I've just read something about AHPRA request evidence for pharmacokinetics!
Is this correct??
I did cover this module in the nurse prescribing course but not in my gen adult nursing course. Have they added this to the nurse training now? It's 6 years since I qualified.
I hope you guys do get sorted. I really feel for you all.. But keep positive!

Hi all! Just reading through all of your posts regarding the new APHRA confusion. First I've heard of it all, but have to say if it turns out diploma nurses have to do 3 year bridging programme this will be a massive stumbling block for me. Can't afford a 3 year course til I start to earn as a registered nurse! I qualified 10 years ago doing the diploma but I've since done a post grad degree in child health (im a childrens nurse) through work as they want us all to have our degree. Would this degree give me the correct level of qualification to register straight away as a nurse or not? A registered migration agent who looked at my qualifications said that immigration look upon the nursing diploma from the uk the same as a degree, so it seems ridiculous that APHRA wouldn't!!
Arghhhhhhhhh!
On no!!! Bouncy it's just an absolute disgrace! How can they say a 3yr diploma is not enough!!
I did the degree but had friends on the dip! & they have just as much knowledge & exp as me! It's so annoying!

Just reading through these posts! Really feel for all those awaiting AHPRA reg! It's bad enough the application itself never mind finding out this news. Hope you all get sorted. Is AHPRA asking for diploma nurse to do bridging programme or is there no news yet?

Thank you. :-)
I'll have a look at this link.

we have been here 15 months and put in our own application in dec ( after being here 13 months), we are doing it ourselves, and ok - just the same as doing the 457 - but more info.....but we have case officer, and just need to do medicals, and then its all with them.......we paid using UK credit card, which means alot cheaper if we had done it last year...so bargain all in all
Thanks, so your going down the direct route?
Is this visa still points based?
I looked at the 189 but I'll loose more points in June when I turn a year older. I really really don't want to do the Ielts test again!
Thank u!

Hi.. My employer is willing to offer sponsorship for my PR visa. Is it defo a minimum of 2years before I can apply?
Thank u in advance! :-)

I have a case officer now on my case. does anyone knows how long it takes now? Cause I ve been 4 months and I am frustrated with this wait.
4m for AHPRA?? I think it took mine 6wks all in all. So approx 4weeks from getting case officer.
-
i think you dont need IELTs for a 457 visa if educated more than 5 yrs in the uk . you just need Aphra and an employer sponsor i believe
Yeah that's right.. If you can get a letter from your school stating you were taught and accessed in English full time for 5years then you do not need Ielts.
Letter must be worded as requested by AHPRA. I had to get mine redone again as the wording wasn't quite right.

AHPRA have a pretty bad reputation for that.. Ive emailed them 3 times over 4weeks since being here in aus to ask for advice/info but still not had any reply. I also forwarded a copy to my case officer who dealt with my application. Suprise Suprise! Still no answer.

Sydney AHRPA wanted proof of address, I was actually only staying in a hotel in Sydney for one night then traveling 2hrs south to where wed be living. I had no proof of that address and it was only a short term let.. But they advised me to open a bank account that day and the bank have me a letter with my hotel address on!! (This would never happen in UK) my account was open within 25mind of entering westpac bank and I was back in AHPRA office 10mins after. I just changed my address with westpac a week later with no hassle. (Also made sure they didn't send any letters to the hotel) although I was a bit stressed it was pretty smooth.

Sending lots of luck your way!! :-)

Thanks Oppyddrum! It's not glaucoma, but glad to hear all went well for you Dad We are going to get a report from my OH optician (he was the one who diagnosed it all those years ago) - outlining Diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment and Impact on Independent Living/Work (prediction of next 5-10 years). We're then going to take this when we see the former Panel Doctor recommended to us today by our migration agent. To see what he would do/advise based on the info we give him. He may have an understanding of how DIAC and MOC view these conditions which have no cost/ongoing treatment, but are a long-term health condition. Appreciate your reply, thanks again.
Hi, what is the condition if you don't mind me asking,
My son was diagnosed with keratoconus, a degenerative condition. His consultant has given me his email so that once my son is under the care of consultant in aus he can contact him with any info re my sons records etc.

^^^ as above!
Good luck! It's a tough process and tests your patients but if your determined then you will do it. With all the help and advice on here it makes things seem easier.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to a lot of people on here, I finally got all my stuff sent to APHRA about 2 weeks ago. How long did it take for people to hear from them to say they had received the application form?
Katie
Mine took approx 6-8wks, :-)

Hi, I have just received email confirmation that my APHRA application form and supporting documents have arrived, the application date is the 12/08, in the email it states there is no timescale due to the high volume of applications, is there anyone in the process of obtaining registration and how long did they currently wait. Thanks. Paul
Mine took about 6wks, & I sent mine in may 2013 right when the new nurse applications were being done so I was expecting to have a longer wait.
-
Exactly, I sent mine via email and only had 2 replys of thanks, I deleted all my info on it so they could just add their own info in.
But the template on the AHPRA is pretty easy to follow, and if u read the previous posts on here re tips and advice on layout then it should be enough.

Hi I am a third year student midwife about to qualify. I know I need to get a few years experience on my back before putting in the paper work but what info do I need from uni ? I understand that I need to get some sort of info on what was covered on the course? could someone shed some light on this please? and does it need to be on letter headed paper ect.... do I get this from the course leader or admin with the uni?
thank you x
It's the full transcript with details of hours including your practical hours, contact the course admin, they will advise on how to request them, some universities charge,
Photocopy them and have them certified by a notary public or justice of peace.

Did my 2nd attempt last wk! Messed up on the reading!! I've not got results yet but I e booked into the next Ielts for Aug anyway!
My writing bit - 250 word on Robots!!! The pros and cons!
My personal opinion and any recent media attention ect !
Speaking test - I had to talk for 2 mins about the seaside, where, why, and what ..
Also had to answer questions on sea fishing and cargo ships!! I just babbled on..! (In English I think lol)
I personally find the reading test the hardest, I could just do with an extra 30mins, I seem to run out of time and rush at the end..
Good luck! Practice practice practice!

Any Nurses here looking for work? How are you finding things
Pretty quite, think it depends on experience and background. Hopefully pick up soon. Fingers crossed!

Hi just about ready to post of ahpra application does anyone know what the processing time is in Melbourne.
They are all different, people have had different experiences from different offices I think, depends on who your case worker is too I think. :-)

Yes , short statement for AHPRA,
Can I ask for an extension?
in Visa Chat
Posted
Hi,
I have an invitation to apply for my sponsored PR by Nov 2016, I'm struggling to have all the necessary docs ready in time (awaiting ANMAC) I wondered if I can ask immi for an extension on the submission date. I really don't want to have to ask my boss to go through the whole process of my her needing to apply for sponsoring me for the PR.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks ?
