  1. Yeah we had another $900 to add. Just as well we had access to funds to pay both the Immi fees and Agents fees yesterday. Good luck with both baby and application.
  2. Thought I would reply to this thread as I have just had the worst 12 hours ever. Myself and partner have been in Australia for three years on a 457 and were transitioning to a PR 186. However, our newborn arrived 2 weeks early before we lodged, meaning that we had to apply for a UK Passport for him to add him onto our 457 before we could lodge our application for PR. My occupation (Production Manager - manufacturing) fell off the lists today. However, with the great support of our agent from True Blue who worked tirelessly late last night on our behalf we lodged and had acknowledgement of our application at 11.50PM, 10 minutes before the occupation lists changed. Fingers crossed that all goes ok but I'm really concerned and sorry for those that are being caught up in this through no fault of there own. At the end of the day, this is just the Liberal party playing politics!!
  3. Hi All After being told by a variety of agents, PIO users and various others that we had no chance of getting to Oz we are finally flying in to Melbourne on 19 August to start work with my new employer who has kindly sponsored me on a 457 for 4 years. Like to say thanks to all those who had advised and supported us in our endeavours and to get the message out that if you try had enough there always a route for you. Now looking for any advice you guys can give us to avoid any common pitfalls that we may encounter with our move and any other advice would be gratefully received. Oh and a big shout out to Go Matilda for helping us navigate through the process. Thank you!! Cheers John and Gill:wink:
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. We're going to probably use an agent and a couple have been recommended Go Matilda and Thinking Australia. Any un-biased reviews would be grateful. Thanks
  5. Hi there. we're aware that this is a challenge and in no way underestimate what's ahead. This is just our initial starting point and looking for some guidance and assistance to avoid pitfalls. Also aware that our age and careers are possible obstacles but none the less determined to push on until told otherwise. Both our jobs are on the CSOL list however, which is a positive. With regards to suburbs again just rally looking for areas to avoid mainly. Always happy to receive feedback.
  6. Hi thanks for the reply. Yeah I understand we're maybe getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Just trying to get a feel for different areas. Any help though is greatly appreciated especially at this early stage. Thanks John and Gillian
  7. Hi thanks for taking the time to reply. We'll probably go down the 457 route with my partner (Gillian) as main applicant and try to get a sponsor. Seems to be quite a few vacancies for property managers in Perth and she can do the licence from here online (I think). Our current jobs in the UK are on the approved list so hopefully we can take things forward. We're both determined individuals so I'm sure we can get through the process. I guess we have to start somewhere lol. Will also take a look at the two agencies you recommended. Thanks again. John and Gillian
  8. Hi to all. My partner and I are looking to emigrate to Perth within the next 1-2 years. Before we speak to a migration agency just looking to see if someone on the forum can offer some guidance. Short summary I'm 45 and run a digital printing business and my partner is 32 and runs a residential letting agency. So initially we would both be looking for employment in those areas. Just needing a guide as to what would be the best way forward in terms of visa application and what suburbs in Perth to stay clear of and what ones are up and coming as we would like to buy once were settled. If someone can recommend either a migration agency or other way of doing this i'd be grateful.
