  5. I was born in the UK and am british. My Partner (Father) is a descent does this still count for the baby to get a british passport?
  6. So I'm a British citizen and my partner is an Australian citizen with a British passport also (due to his father being British). We are currently expecting our first child here in Australia my questions are 1) would the child automatically get an Aussie passport? 2) how would I go about getting the child a British passport? Thanks in advance

  12. Hi all, So I sent off for my PR yesterday (or the day before) as in the second stage of our partner visa (820). I sent it in an express post bag to Melbourne from Adelaide which i have checked and it arrived this morning. Unlike last time I didn't receive an e-mail to say they have received it. Do they do this? Also anyone know from experience how long the processing time takes? Thanks Hayley
  13. Ok. I've put most of it together and filled in the forms and sent off for my police check today so will probably get it sent off the day after my lodgement date. Stressing less about it now. :-)
  14. Thanks So much Snifter. You have been a massive help to me this time round and certainly through the first stage as well. Are you from Adelaide too? The heat is lovely but only in small doses. One more thing, It says my eligibility date is from the 22nd Jan. We will obviously lodge it after that but how much time after the eligibility date do we have?
  15. Hi all, I recently received an e-mail to say that I am eligible to apply for the second stage of my partner Visa (Permenant). Again I am totally overwhelmed. I have a few questions - The 888 Stat decs that I need to get two people to fill out, Can I get the same two people to fill it out as last time round or do I need two people that haven't done it? - What do I need to include in my applicant? Photos? Bills etc - My Passport runs out in August. Once my PR comes through, how do I get that transferred over to my new passport? I've heard that the second stage is no where near as bad as the first stage. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated. Hayley

  21. We sent off our 820 (Onshore) Partner Visa on the 20th January. It arrived at Perth Immi on the 22nd. We then sent off my medical and Police checks a few weeks later. I received an e-mail on the 10th April requesting further evidence. After speaking with my Case Officer today we just need a little extra information that we need to send to her via e-mail and then she will make a final decision....... I'm hoping this is all positive and i'm keeping my fingers crossed but so far i'm pretty impressed with how quickly this has all been done by :-)
