will do that tomorrow morning! i just thought that bridging visa is automatically given to applicants as soon as they have submitted another visa application...omg this is confusing.

hi guys, i have lodged my application on the 27 April and immi charged the application fee on my credit card on 1st May. i remember a few people said that they have got a letter from immi about having their bridging visa a granted in about one week time. I have not received anything about bridging visa A yet. i was on a working holiday visa and it expired on the 3rd may. i think i am already on bringing visa A but i am not so sure. does anyone know wether i should be expecting this letter or email? also there is an update regarding to the processing time, http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/onshore-partner-program-priorities.htm "To ensure that your application is processed as quickly as possible only lodge your application when it is complete. Please undertake health and character checks before you lodge your application and supply the department with a completed 'Form 80'." so i booked my medical on the 1st May and i have already obtained a police check certificate. i just got the result from the medical, i am not sure whether i should send it in straight away even i haven't got an case officer yet any advise would be appreciated cheers!

you can definitely bring to to fair work Australia etc. but i think it is a lot of effort to proof that particular company is discriminnating or being unfair whatsoever. and what are we gonna achieve if we bring this up, they are not gonna hire you at the end anyway. and so many companies out there are like that too. i am sure they will have very good excuse to get away with that accusation.

i am looking for jobs as well and i noticed the same problem. I got a phone call responding to my application to a front line hotel job. The lady talked to me and she sounded very happy with my answers to all her questions and she said she would call me again to arrange an interview. the thing is , at the end of the conversation she asked me if i was an Australian citizen. I said no, but i was going for the permanent residency after the TR. She then just responded ok and she would call me back. but she never called..i knew she wasn't going to call cos she sounded disappointed too it was just a front line job and i think all the effort just gone to waste. my friend had the same problem not long ago. and he has got his permanent residency last year. He got a job not long after that and he already changed jobs twice and already in a managerial position now.i thought maybe it was coincident. but he said it is true that it was a lot easier when he has got his PR.

not sure if anyone still check this thread i am at the last step of my application now. everything is almost good to go. does anyone know if i can pay the visa charge at the department? I am in SA and i am supposed to mail the application to Perth. I only have a debit card and the form says i cant do debit card if i lodge by mail. so i am thinking that i will mail the application to Perth and pay in SA. does it work this way? thanks everyone

yea i already applied the aus police check last week so it shouldnt be too long. so is your visa granted yet EmT? if so, how long did you wait since you lodged your application? I am thinking to submit the whole application to the immigration department and pay the money on the spot. Do you know whether I can do that or do i have to have to posted? thank you for the help everyone!

i see a lot of people saying that they wait for the request from CO. but most of them are offshore. I am not sure if anyone had to do it twice because of the long wait time. i guess i will wait until the i get a case officer and hopefully i could check with them straight away..

yes sorry for the confusion.. so should i do the medical check and police check now if i am submitting the application in about two weeks? on the web site it says 'You must meet certain health requirements. Please do not undertake a health check unless requested to do so. but in the booklet it says If possible, you should visit Medibank Health Solutions for your medical examinations before you lodge your Partner visa application.

i have got all the forms ready, form 80, 2x 888,47SP and 40SP..its just the evidence i am worry about. by the way, we started living together in feb 2012 and that's the date we put in the forms, however, all my letters, online bills address didn't get changed until March and some in April , (my bank statement only comes every quarter).. do you think that may look suspicious as if we are lying? also, the reason i got confused is that in the booklet it says that the medical check and police check should be obtained if we lodge the application in australia. so i should probably do them first?

thank you so much! do you know whether the statement have to be handwritten? thanks for the idea i did cover the emotional support financial and household stuff, but i guess i didn't think of the future part. i am gonna put that part in as well! all the bills are under my partner's name, all my bills are online like mobile phone and bank statement. i probably will provide them if they have got address on them .. thanks again for the ideas!

i am preparing my visa application now and I am wondering if i should have my medical and police check ready and done before i submit the application? or do i have to wait until immi's request? here's a list of the "evidence" i am trying to provide, please advise if you have time to read thru it tax return online application showing spouse section for both my partner and I Superannuation letter showing each other as beneficiary and partner Joint bank account Letter heads showing same address letter from real estate agency showing the contract term of my last rental before moving into my partner's (we are not renting now so we don't have any joint real estate document) copies of transaction record which i have paid for the house renovation and the equipments 3x A4 paper with our photos from the start of the relationship 2 pages of the outline of our relationship from me - handwritten in paragraphs(how we met, how we start sharing life together etc) 1 page by my partner - handwritten , in dot points format a timeline I created in a A4 page stating several milestones/events that we have done together/experienced etc hotel and flight booking of one of our trips i have also got a few receipts from a few services we got for the house, which have got my partner's name on, our house address and my phone number, but do not have my name on them. do you think i should get a copy of them too so i can tell immi that my partner use my phone number for such things sometimes? some of the evidence can be a little tricky..for example, if a receipt has got my credit card number on, should i also provide a copy of my credit card showing my name on it so immi knows it's my credit card? Also, with all these papers, receipts, documents, should I highlight the parts that i want to show them? or sticky note etc? Thank you for reading and i appreciate any comment!cheers

So you think the plan will not work? My boss told me that the businesses have different Abn, so it should be ok for me to work in the other one . He said he asked agent but I m not sure if they are dogy.

Hi everyone! I am in a little situation now and i would like some advise if you know about the WHV. I am on a working holiday visa since June this year. I have worked for this company which is a franchise owned by an individual company. Lets call this franchise Mccas for now. my boss convinced me that he has got another company(he owns both of the companies), and this company owns another mccas located in the same city but different suburb . So he has got two mccas owned by 2 different company name and ABN. he said I could work in one of them and when my 6 months is up, i can work in the other mccas. So will this plan work? or is it still considered as breaching the 6 months limitation? Thank you so much for responding!

yes i totally agree! but just didn't known whether DIAC agrees. My mum and dad never have a joint account even they have married for 30 years or so.

Thank you everyone! I just found another thing i can use. My boyfriend had his tax return to my account last year and this year. I am not sure why that happened but i guess that is something i can use too. i just need to find the letters now. we don't have insurance because we can't afford the cost now. but I am sure we have each other for emergency contact or next of kin kind of things.I need to figure out how to find the proof. i think they are usually in forms when we sign up for things and we don't get copies of.

Thanks snifter. I am so worry about the application. I can't imagine not staying with my partner. It would be so difficult and I can't afford studying just to stay here. and I am already on a working holiday visa so I won't be staying longer if i dont apply for this. Do you know whether photos will help? we went to weddings together, events, trips and family events etc. I couldn't find any of the tickets, invites or anything other than photos. I think I lost most of them or I didn't keep them safe. We are going to get a joint bank account this week hopefully it is not too late. so now I have letters to proof address, receipts (from renovation or household stuff), Bank account, references from friends. It still doesn't sound like a lot of evidence.

Hi calire, did you only get an case officer after u applied for the visa? Did you submit your application by post? I would love to do my application in person so i know someone is dealing with it but i think they don't do it in person?

the last time i used an agent i missed my chance for the permanent residency. My friend has the same experience with another agent. Other friend of mine paid about $2000 for the agent, got his PR done but $2000 is a lot of money if you really think about what does the agent actually do, not much. ummm...

Hi everyone , I would really need some help now for preparing my visa application. I am going to apply for the partner visa. My boyfriend is Australian and we hv been together since 2010. We only started living together in March this year. (so i am preparing to apply for it next March or April. I didn't think of applying for the partner visa before so i didn't really collect anything.and now i think i should have done that. btw I always wonder that isn't it more like a fake relationship if i have collected everything perfectly since the moment we lived together? Here is our situation We live together in his house so we don't have to pay real estate stuff. I have all my mail to the same address.I guess i can use it as a proof? We don't have a joint bank account because we already have individual ones since ages ago. So should we get one now? what needs to go into the bank account? both of our wages from work? our bills are not paid together most of the time. He has his name on all the bills for the household stuff, he has everything set up since he bought the house like 6-7 years ago. it is just weird if i change all the billing account names after i move in. we are like a lot of couples, one of us will pay for the bills and the other one would pay for shopping or other things. it basically works like that. Does that mean this will not count as evidence because we just dont have both our names on the bills? There are a lot of things that I have contribute to the house. Like fixing the hot water system and renovating the kitchen etc. I did pay for a lot of things with him. Will DIAC want to see the receipts or statement? We wanted to register our relationship. However, I can't find any information about it in South Australia. We would happily go to Melbourne to apply or it but we need to reside there as well. We live in SA and I honestly think its not fair Does anyone know whether we can do it in SA or it is impossible? All our mutual friends are happy to do the reference bit for us so we will get 3-4 of them to do it. hope this will help. What other information would be useful? I found the information on the Partner visa booklet pretty crappy because it doen't really tell you what actual proof they want to see. Any information/ advice/ suggestion would be appreciated!!!!!!!
