  1. Hi very recently made the trip from victoria to queensland with 2 small kids. We went warrnambool to Gundagai and stayed in the Tuckerbox Inn, next day Gundagai to Port Mcqaurrie stayed over night then next day spent some time in port mcquarrie then at Coffs Harbour for a couple of hours arriving into Gold Coast about 7pm at night. its a lengthy drive and not much to look at along the way. So 2 nights 3 days is comfortable driving time. xx

  3. Hello I been here a while and think furniture is very reasonable and found mostly in dollars what you would pay in pounds back home. I shipped my furniture all over but ended up buying mostly new stuff again once I was here. A few things got damaged in the container though and very stupidly I didn't take out insurance. the one thing I wish I did ship before I came though was a dyson lol. They are more expensive here. Google every day shops like Harvey Norman, Super Amart, Target.com.au, kmart.com.au, fantastic mr furniture, Big W, Adairs, Spot light and Harris scarfe, The good guys. Bunnings is b&q also to compare prices. These are all shops you will find almost everywhere and will give you an idea of prices. The one thing that is expensive here is food and alcohol but I don't think you can ship either lol We shipped out all our Xmas tree, lights etc so saved a bomb at Xmas time. Happy packing...
  4. Hi looking for advice on transition from 457 to PR. Been living in Regional Victoria on a 457. Employer happy to nominate for PR but need to wait the full 2 years.. If we apply for PR just now by ourselves would the year and a half in a Regional town help our scores.. Does the process go a bit quicker when you in Australia applying or is it the same as if still in UK?? thanks for any advice..
