  1. Hi i had exactly the same problem! Mine side we great my OHs were really nasty to the point I don't speak anymore . The called me selfish. I stayed longer until my son passed his year 12 too. How dare they judge when not even living in Oz themselves! It makes my skin crawel. At the end of the day just ignore them you've done a great job stating as long as you have . It takes a very brave person to move from the otherside of the world! Good luck
  2. Hi I moved back a year ago today, same visa I did 2 years my husband stayed for extra 3 months would have been longer if he wasn't offered a job in the Middle East! Same situation really, you always have in the back of your mind what happens if he doesn't return! The longer you stay the harder it is to leave! You have do what's best for you, ppl say money isn't everything but you can't live on fresh air! Hope it goes well
  3. Totally agree! We had to pay private in Oz, why should PPL abuse our UK System! It really annoys me ! Lots of PPL come here thinking they can have operations free when they have not lived in the Country for years! Cameron needs to take a leaf out of Australia's health System then we would be a much richer Country
  4. Hi We've just claimed our super back after 4 months leaving Oz. You have to write to immigration to ask to cancel your visa they will send you a reference number. We had to get all family passports verified by a Notary Solicitor which cost us £135. Also you need a utility bill with you New UK Address . Forms were send back and forth! You also get taxed on Super which is 35% ! After they accept them form you get a cheque within 30 days! Hope this helps!
  5. It was a very costly, emotional experience that I personally won't recommend for the faint hearted. however my daughter gained a lot more confidence. You need mega bucks behind you to attempt this upheaval.
  6. Hi Moonwalker, I was in the same position as yourself, I arrived in Oz back in 2010, 8 months in then the homesick started to sink in. I came for hubby's job & chance of a lifetime. We brought a 16 year old and my daughter who was then 8. I wanted to go home after 8 months crying as everyday went by. I stayed an extra year down under, but very unhappy. My husband loved Australia having his expanded family close at hand. I however lost my father in the UK while out in OZ. I made my mind up that after 2 years enough was enough I boarded the plane only 6 weeks ago with my daughter and now have no regrets. My son is still in Oz until his HSC exams finishes but will return in November. My husband is currently looking for work in the middle east when he returns with my Son. It's not exactly how I imagined my life to turn out, but I know exactly how you feel.I gave it my all after 2 years, but had to come to a decision. my Daughter is very happy back at her old school with all her friends. I have just enrolled on a college course, It took a lot of guts that day to walk on the plane more than it would to stay in a country that I didn't feel I belong. I hope you can sort things out together. Good luck
