  2. Hi. You do get the old one back, with a corner missing,a week before the new one. The Visa is electronic, they dont use the stickers any more. Cheers
  3. Lol,all good, happy days! No,we first dated when we were IN high school........ Thats a long time ago, obviously. We caught up again last year, the rest is history.
  4. Hi.Ozinoz Yes,my partner was here last year for a few weeks. Its catch 22 isnt it,we want to be together, but i could never live in the UK,hang me on Tower bridge in a gibbet if need be,but reality is Oz is the only place to live IMHO. Cheers
  5. I came back for the Fire season,as im a Firefighter. Yes we first dated in 1980,in high school! This is a forum,i do appreciate the links given for Immi here in Australia. Not interested in other Mills n Boon comments. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the info guys!It is very complex to say the least!!!How much does the visa actualy cost? Could we include in our application: 1.Telephone records dating over 12 months between the countries 2.Photos of us together ,in both countries 3.My Super,NHS number,P45 all with my partners UK address. 4.Banking records, where funds have been deposited between the two countries. Thank you for your inputs, appreciated. Rob
  7. Thanks guys. This is my partner, who i went back to the UK for last year................
  8. Ok.Im back in Aus .My partner has decided she would like to come live here too. How does this work?Visa, age limit, skill sets, etc etc etc. Does anyone have a simple A,B,C of the steps involved in this? My partner thinks that as were in a r/ship[albeit-long distance] and im a Perm Resident[but not a citizen],she can apply to just come live here with me?? Any simple basic help with this would be real helpfull thanks guys.
  9. The good old CSA reminded me today that i ticked "Permanently leaving Australia"............god,talk about big brother watching you..............
  10. Use your Illusion................... Back in Oz,could only handle the UK for 8 weeks.Totaly different world to 32 years ago as i remembered it.Shame realy, but ill never die wondering now.
  11. I ticked "Permanently leaving Australia" on the departure card when i left. Will this have any implications if i wished to return???
  12. Yes,very true! I was laid off here on Friday,it has put the whole experience of coming back to the UK in turmoil!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understand that about the residency now,the penny dropped, online applications cost $300,all good. I want to go back to Oz..............
  13. Ok.to sum up: British born 32 years as a Aus perm resident[but not a citizen] Now in UK,since 2012. Have no current RRV. Have my mother, couple of brothers,my kids living in Oz,what steps if any to keep my Perm residency of Aus? thanks!
  14. After 32 years i returned to the UK. Dont get me. wrong ,i love Australia ,would have died for it many times as a firefighter. But.... 1. I found my industry[manufacturing] going down the gurglar....our company introduced the day off here & there[no work] back in 2008.Today they are in Receivership. 2.People seperated with kids involved, get ripped apart by the CSA,with no help from other Gov depts,to keep your head above water. Just my own experience,my 2 cents!
  15. Gday! Anyone dealt with them back here in UK? I have been trying to sort this out for weeks, emails, phone calls back to Oz...gggrrrrrrrrrr! Even the local CAB here, have no idea how this works.... Before i left Oz ,i was told multiple times by Legal aid Child support Lawyers, that Oz has a reciprocating agreement with the UK in regard to collecting payments.......... Ideas anyone? Thanks.
