  1. My skills assessment was lodged 10 weeks ago today. Seems like the longest wait in history!! Hurry up!!!!!
  2. Thank you so much to everyone who has replied, I really appreciate it.
  3. We are very early in our plans - I still have another qualification to do before I can get a visa but we are just thinking about where we would like to head to. We are thinking either Melbourne or Adelaide - well anywhere within an hour of either of them would be fine. We are a married couple in our 30s with 2 young children, our son is 7 and our daughter is nearly 4 so obviously a family orientated place is what we are looking for. We are not bothered about big houses with a swimming pool and are quite prepared to rent a 2 bed place for a while as long as the second bedroom is big enough for the children to share comfortably. We are moving for a more outdoor lifestyle so it doesn't makes sense to spend all of our money on a big house and have nothing left over for going out and enjoying ourselves. Both of our children dance (ballet, tap, modern) and our son does gymdance and judo. Cricket is a big part of our summer as my husband plays and coaches and our son started to play last summer and is excited about continuing this year. So we need to be near somewhere that has clubs and dance schools that we can join. I am a secondary school modern languages teacher (French, Spanish, German and English as a foreigh language) and my husband is a sheet metal worker and he would like to continue in this field but is willing to change, he has a forklift licence and is prepared to do anything! We are not well off in the UK, I have been studying for the past 3 years so we have been struggling by on just one wage for quite a while but we have budgeted as we are getting by. We are both expecting to work full time so hopefully with 2 wages coming in we will be better off but we know that whatever happens, it's probably going to be tough financially for a while. I think we are pretty realistic as far as money is concerned! So...Adelaide or Melbourne? Any advice would be gratefully received! Thank you!
  4. Good luck! We are thinking of Brisbane so any updates that you can give would be really helpful. Hope the move goes well.
  5. moving costs $4000 What does the $4000 include - is this for a container?
  6. Congratulations - that's amazing news. I am so happy that everything has worked out for you - I hope that we are in your situation one day (a long way off for us yet but we will get there!)
