Abhay, I am under family sponsored, I was for almost 3 odd years under priority 5, then applied for state migration to Perth, after receiving my state migration grant letter, DIAC bumped me up to priority 3. Check if your skill is required by any state, canberra, perth, melbourne etc, if it is on their list, apply for state migration, that would help you jump to priority 3. Good Luck

  7. I applied under GSM 176, FIBM in 2008 and am yet awating a visa grant. Are you also awaiting the same in the identical skill, or have you been granted a visa if so, how soon or long did it take to be finalized.   8. One would fail medicals if their health care is going to be a significant expense to the Australian tax payer.
  9. In my opinion i dont think your visa will be rejected. Their concernes are of serious, terminal illnessess and contageous diseases. Also they do not prefer to sepend tax money on newbies who have not contributed to tax but end up using it upon arrival. so hang in there, as long as your not seriously ill you will step foot across.
  10. They specifically mention, that they require coloured scanned copies. If you dont have a colour scanner, use your cell phone to click a pic, copy it on you PC using a USB cable and send it to them when asked.
  11. do not conduct your health and police check until your case officer has asked you to do so. if and when your grant letter / visa is issued it will mention a date, you would have to enter australia before that date

  16. My medical and police check was submitted to my case officer in Sep 2013, I am now awaiting the issuance of a grant letter/visa for GSM 176. Any idea how long a wait will it be?
