Hi all, we are now living the dream and are now living onthe Gold Coast. My OH has just statedworking on a self-employed basis and I wondered how it works? IE how much tax and supper should we put away weekly/monthlyon a $35.00 a hour rate ,we are keeping all receipts for petrol, tools etc as Iam sure that it kind of works the same way as UK IE deducting expenses etc. Does anyone have a web site that they could recommend thatexplains how it work as I found the government web site quite confusion. Hi all, not sure if I am the right forum. We re flighing to OZ on the 9th of Sept, trying to get everything done, but i just had a thought about travel insurance. Should we get some? Also how do we go about getting life insurance, we are still going the have are UK policy until we sort outselfes out in OZ but does it work the same as the UK. Thanks The Peachey's

Hi Ralsinoz, we are moving to Brisbane ( Pimpama) in September and are going to be staying with my sister for about a month until we find are own property to rent and we are only shipping to OZ our personnel items, so I would be intersted to see how far you are from Pimpama. Thanks Kelly

Can anyone help, we are flying with Malaysia airlines and we are allowed 40KG each and my Hubbie want's to take is golf clubs on the plane rather then ship and I am unsure if the golf club weight is in addition to the 40KG of part of the 40kg. Thanks, we have two Children aged 6 & 2. The stop over is at Kuala Lumpa and only seems to be for two hrs, which is great as I am sure we are just going to want to get there.

Thank you all for you kind wishes, it is nice to be able to finally send this post. We applied for the visa exactly 8 weeks ago tomorrow. so not bad going CO was allocated 4 weeks after lodgement. Good luck to you all, we will be leaving UK at the beginning of September and heading the Goldcoast to see my sister who left UK 4years ago, just in time for her 40th!!!!

OMG can't quite beleive it, our 189 visa has been granted today!!!! No more paperwork to fill out no more worrying if we were going to get it or not!! WE HAVE IT!!!! Next stress now is to sort out what we are taking and what we have leaving...... Good luck to you!! Keep going it will be worth it.

Hi Samlee, we also had are medicals done on 14.06.13 and our PCC were sent to CO before 14.06.13, We do have a CO but as yet still no Visa!!! I can' see that anyone has been issued with a via since 21.06.13, so I am hopeing it will be any day now too. Really need to hand in my notice at work as we hope to be leaving at the beginning of Sept. Keep me posted abou your visa. Thanks Kelly

We are applying for 189. We submitted app on 15/05/13, CO allocated on 11/06/13, Meds uploaded 19/06/13 which was the only thing outstanding and now we are waiting!!!!

I feel the same and we have the roughly the same time line. Med were uploaded on 19th June being the only thing pending. I was so sure that we would hear today, which why I sent a thread this morning asking if anyone had a visa granted this week and so far I can't see that there has been. Not only was the system going down this week for new yearly uploads there was also another issue with the site, so I was think that they also might not be able to press the "Finalised" button so to speak on there system!!! Might be just wishfull thinking

Hi EmyLee, it nice to hear that I am not the only one worrying and getting a bit fustrated, I hoped that we would have been issued the Visa today especially as the new system is being impemented I kind of hoped that they would get all our ones done!!! I was just wondering as there is a problem with the website at the moment for uploads etc, do you also think that this also might cause problems with visas beening issued??

Just wanted to know if anyone has been issued with a visa in the last week?

As it says in the title, just wanted to know that once you have done your medicals are they uploaded via Ehealth that day or within the week? When did you notice it saying received on the Gov website?

Hubbie is a carpenter, we will be going to the gold coast as my sister lives there and we are going to stay with them for a few months till we get jobs, children settled in to schooletc and then we will rent nearby and buy a property later, that is if we get the Visa and we will hopefully be going in September. Where are you going??

Congratutations on your visa, I can not wait to write that myself!!! Hopefully!!! I just need to realx!!! next week it will all be over and then its out of our hands!!!

Dear all, I don’t know why but I am getting myself into a bit of a panic over the medicals. We have ours booked for next Friday 2 adults and 2 children in London. I am just not sure what they are looking for and as far as we know we are fit and health.
