Well folks its happened we have got our visa and we are now starting to make our plans became reality!! We that's me, hubby and girls 5 nd 2 heading out to cc the end of sept. So my questions are where can we find a short term let while we explore nd find a longer term let?? Are there any sites I can look on?? We are hoping with a bit of luck and lots of hard work things will work out. So any good advice on the cc is welcome like areas to live,schools,etc ​cheers x

Well we are in shock we got our visa granted !!! That's great news but 3 weeks ago we were lead to believe our 2year olds med had been referred for no reason so we prepared our selves for a 3-4month wait. So we were over joyed to be granted it. we are wondering if it had been lost or misplaced not referred. I guess we'll never know but the main thing now is making plans t o go to NSW in September. I hope you all get the grant soon. Emma xx

Just had news our daughters medical has been referred, gutted!!!! There is nothing wrong with her so hopefully it will get passed ASAP. We reckon it could be upto another 3months before we now get it:mad:. We thought it was all going so well......

Hi all, just reading all the recent posts about the referred Medicals. Can't believe how long they can take. We have just found out that our 2year olds Medical has been referred to MOC. She has no health issues and our CO has told us they pick random children's to check. We are gutted!! We wanted to be making plans but now feel we need to wait as we have been told it could be 3 months +. Will keep reading on here to read how long they are taking and people's timelines. Brill info em thank you for that. It's just good to hear there are things happening that we will be ble to get involved in and make some friends. I know the children will hopefully be our way in to doing this. I will definitely be asking you more questions as our research and dates become a little more solid. We are hoping to come aug/sept time so we have time to get sorted somewhere so my daughter can start year 1 in January. So thanks again you have made me slightly less nervous about the big move!!! That's useful to read,thanks. A lot of info for nsw is always about Sydney so it's nice to hear about central coast. We have looked at lots of areas there and think all look nice but it is great to hear first hand experience. We are going to start doing research for jobs but hopefully we will be somewhere to be found around aug/sept time. I have 2 daughters 5 and 2 so any info for groups etc for these will be welcome. Woohoo!!! Got a CO today that's 6 weeks from lodging. We did our Medicals last week at Bridgwater Manchester (also thought it was great our 2 and 5 year olds were very comfy with it all) we have sent off for PCC so we just wait for them to come back and then hopefully it won't be long!!!! Hope it's going well for the rest of you :wink:

So glad to see some feb lodges are getting a case officer.starts to make me feel a bit nervous it's going to happen!!! We had our meds done yest and are waiting for our pcc to come back we don't have a co yet but we did lodge the end of feb so hopefully we will hear in a couple of weeks time.:biggrin: Good luck all xx

hi there i presume from your name 'sparkysteve' you are an electrician??? If so did you apply for the visa through your skill?? the reason i ask is coz my OH is a sparky and we are currently looking into availability of work as an electrical assistant and how long it takes to get the A grade licence. Was wondering if you know much info about it. I know there are loads of threads on here but some of them are fairly out of date and we have found them to say mixed things. cheers emma

hi there, just read your message and can't help you but i am really intersted in any response you get as we are more or less in the same position. My OH is an electrician and we too are trying to find out if he can do anything towards this electrical licence before we go or if it all has to be done over there. We are still waiting for our visa also a skilled migrant 175 to be granted. We are becoming quite frustrated about it now, how long did it take for yours to be granted? What area of NSW are you hoping to head too? If you get any advice or we find out anything i will stay in touch. good luck!
