  1. hi param i am about to jump in same boat. i have an advanced diploma in hospitality management but dnt have any experience. going to apply rcb, nomination and visa all together as a restaurant manager.lets c what happen. i heard there is no requirement for experience if the occupation is restaurant manager. what about you.ta

I think you are right, depend upon occupation and Cert. You should be OK if RCB is positive.

  2. Hi guys,

i got my 187 visa from one of the franchise company but now my owner going to sell that company, my main concern is May I need to stick with that company for rest of the time of 2 years period or I am free to go another company. Is there any different condition for franchise company .

    thanks in advance

Stay in regional area in same occupation, you should be ok.

  3. Hi Guys I have followed this post for long time and I just have my Pr granted today so I want to share my timeline and hope it helps for those who are still waiting for their visa

    This is my timeline:

    RCB applied: 20/5/2012

Visa and Nomination lodged: 28/6/2012 last week rush in June

    RCB approved 17/8/2012

Case officer and request addition document: 5 May 2013

    Nomination and visa Approved: 13/12/2013

Takes more than 1 and haft year

    Position: Store Manager at IGA

And now I have facing the new issue. After more than 1 and a haft year waiting for the PR I worked for the nomination business but because my boss has finance problem so he is going to sell the business I think will be within this month

The new onwer has his own staff so he wont keep me with him But I actually can get the manager job in other supermarket. This is the worst situation ever, now if I notice the DIBP they would cancel my visa. So bad right guys?

Find a job in same occupation in regional area and you should not have any problem. DIAC want you to stick to regional area and in intended job.

  4. Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here, this really is a great thread to get lots of useful information but now I have a questions that I can't seem to find an answer to and i'm hoping someone here can help me.

My partner and I are currently in Perth on a working holiday visa, he was offered a job in Canberra with a 187 Visa. We put the nomination in (I was attached to it) and it was granted. We're now applying for the visa (in fact we've paid, we're just uploading all of our documents now) but my question in regarding the de facto visa. We've been together 2 years and have lots of evidence so that's not a problem but I don't know if we have to fill in the partner forms (47SP and 40SP) or not because we've already paid the fee when we paid for his 187 visa as I'm attached to it. Also, is my British passport enough evidence for my English Language capabilities?

Sorry if this is a basic question but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are included in same application filed by your partner. Those forms are for partner sponsorship.

Another thing you have to check is your original visa have no condition attached to it which bar application.

  5. Hi Manoj, I applied in June too, Melb DRC aplication, haven't heard anything yet. I haven't got 2 years experience either. However my MA told that my masters degree in Oz uni will do for 187 application.

If you have degree you do not have to worry about two year experience requirement. It only applies to certain diplomas.

    Medicals- 11 Nov 2013

    VAC 2 Sent -25 Nov 2013

    VISA GRANT 26 November 2013.

    Little long wait but worth

  7. Google the code for that job and at the job description it will tell you minimum qualification and experience needed by immigration.

Blossom79, Thanks for so much help and volunteer work. 119/857 RSMS is getting pretty inactive. I watch 187 but will move there after exhausting this site. We are already in last week of June 2012, it may go into next planning year 2014-15.

  8. Thanks for reply. But I have talk to my lawyer and he said that you don't need any experience and advanced diploma in hospitality management will do to apply rsms. I am confused, what to do.

I think Blossom is right, you need two years experience based on qualification not position.

Other route is go for 457 and get required experience ( if you are from certain countries need experience for skill assessment in 457) or get a full diploma.

  9. One of my friends got the message below from the immigration department.

Regional Sponsored visa applicants – please note:

In the skilled stream, of which your visa application is a part, priority processing arrangements and Migration Program planning levels have been designed to ensure the Australian economy gets the skills it needs now. The Migration Program planning levels for the visa category, Regional Sponsored, has a limited number of places left for the 2013-14 program year.

This will mean processing times may be longer and that once the remaining places are used, the department cannot grant any application until the following program year, unless more visa places become available. Until that time, I cannot guarantee that your application will be decided in the immediate term, nor can I give an indication as to the likely timeframe. You can be assured, however, that the department will contact you when we are ready to finalise your visa application.

When contacting your allocated case officer, please ensure you put your case officer's name, the primary applicant's full name, date of birth and either the file reference number or Transaction Reference Number or Request ID in the subject line of the email.

It seems that the quota for this year is almost full. I applied on 27th June. Don't know how long I will be waiting.

I written in earlier posts regarding this bottleneck and resulting wait times due to program planning levels. RSMS is facing long delays due to last rush of June 2012.

  10. Hi Blossom79,

I applied on 29/6/12 at perth office but have not got any CO yet. My employer emailed immigration office many times but no reply yet. I am really worried now as everyone on this forum have atleast got a CO. What do you think Is it normal? What should I do?

    H

One person I know from MEL with same date still have no CO.

  11. Just got visa grant am so happy after vaiting 15 months and last four months got CO no news but just an hour ago I got my visa . Thanx to everyone and special thanx to blossom and move2 . And all the best who are still waitin there visa timeline visa apply 29 june 2012 mel office ndr as cook case officer got in may 2013 ...

    Congratulations, The wait was worth.

We have two grants from June 29.

  12. Same situation as you, my timeline :

29/06/12 nomination&visa apply, ack letter on the same day

23/07/13 CO allocated, asked for medical, police clearance and form 80. But nomination still not approve.

    13/08/13 documents submitted.

    ......no news till now..

Most people from last week of June 2012 still waiting for decision.

  13. It's a hard one, as many of the co's seem to do both parts at the same time. You wouldn't think they would send you for more Medicals if they could see likely problems though.

    blossom

If applicant is two year diploma holder in Horticulture, for applying 187, did two years experience is required or not ? I think that requirement is for certIII or four only.

  14. The fee structure changed in July so you now pay per person on the application, so you may have to pay a fee. Depends if they are applying it to all new applications (and if they count this as a new application or not) or just ones started since July.

Report back on how you go. :-)

I think if application is lodged under old rules, no additional fee is required.

But reading new fee structure table on page 34 it says additional 1050$.

  15. Hi Blossom, need a piece of advice. one of my friends have applied for 187 visa Dec-12, and expecting a CO in a couple of months. He is also getting married soon. So he was wondering if he get's married by the time he gets a CO allocated, would he be able to add his partner to his application. He is offshore at the moment. what will be the possible options for him?

Yes, applicant can include spouse if get married before visa decision is made under same fee and application. Let the CO know and provide all the documents relating to change.

He should proceed and save fee and extra wait.

  16. what a relief PR granted today

  17. G'day Guys

Can any help me out i bit worried to contact Diac coz i reckon if i do enquire about my nom and visa they might get aggro and might effect my application.

its been 8 weeks i submitted docs and its over 2 mth i got CO

    Cheers

It is quite normal, nothing to worry.

  18. Hi Guys how are you doing, I am actually stuck in dilemma and I need suggestions plz, I applied for RSMS in Dec 2012 , and Ive got my RCb only,, so far no more news apart from My hotel I work in is selling, and the new owner would take around 2-3 months to take over , as transferring the licenses take time and effort...

So what should I do now should I inform Immigration now or should I wait for new owner to take over , and also as the new owner comes in the ABN will change , my application would need to be started again???

secondly I have another option to apply 190 visa on my own, as I do have invitation from Diac for that,,,,and I have 60 days to lodge ,, for this I would have to withdraw my RSMS file and pay all those fees again,,, ??

    Help what should I do,,???

If new owner is buying whole business entity with same ABN , No problem. If old business ceases to exist and starting as new business you have to start all over again and it will be tough for new business to niminate.

  19. Hello friend

no response since I have submitted all document

    just hope next month

Looks like details of your work employees. But should be directed to your employer.

It means they want to check how many citizens vs PR employed by your work.

  20. Hey guys Just curious to know about job paper advertisement. Is there any time period thing i.e job advertisement has to be in paper for atleast month or more??

Differ for rcb,s location and requirement. Check with where you applying.

  21. Hi Move2,

Yes my file is DRC, my occupation is QA Manager, my qualification is Master of Science from Australia itself. So would u reckon it will be any faster?

Let us hope for 3-4 months, if everything goes OK. Yes your occupation/application should be processed faster.
