  1. Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated.
  2. Hi all, I recently used my WHV and stayed in New South Wales for the majority of my stay. Since returning home, I have settled down with my partner & we are both exploring the possibility of emigrating to Australia in 2014. I will then be 31 years old and do not have any skills/profession to obtain a visa but my girlfriend is a fully qualified teacher. Does anyone know if and how we could both emigrate together with me attaching onto her visa ? any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Loved oz so much, we both want to experience it permanently hopefully! Thanks
  3. It was hardly the waitresses fault, she wouldn't have been the one who made up the dessert! he was prob showing off to the lady he was with... Pig of a man
  4. Sounds like your living the dream Louise! Fair play to you, I have said I'm going to go with an open mind and just go with the flow so fingers crossed I'll end up having a similar adventure to yours! What part of oz have you settled in?
  5. Yeah I made my mind up last week mate and booked my flight, was such a tense moment pressing the confirm button mind ha, was a bag of nerves! No looking back now though  .. Any ideas on what jobs you want to do? I'm going accept anything to keep me ticking over and just apply for a load of jobs in Sydney in the meantime, definitely doing that RSA course soon after I arrive anyway. go on http://www.netflights.com and have a look, I got my flight for £480 at the end of November and they are really easy to deal with
  6. I used to work for a dealership selling toyotas and results. 95% of the cars that were coming back in to the service dept with problems were renaults (French junk) so basically my point is toyotas are very reliable, nissans are just as trusting but not sure the market on them in oz. hoping to pick myself up either make when I arrive in November
  7. Ha ok I will do mate, to be honest I haven't got a clue what to expect! All part of the adventure I suppose
  8. Cool, will do. Was thinking of sending over savings to my oz account each week as well, didn't think I'd have to prove it in my uk acc before leaving
  9. Cheers Matt, I will definitely look into Newcastle and Byron for work as soon as I arrive, am coming over on the 27th of November, bare me in mind if you hear of anything mate
  10. Im coming over 27th of November so hopefully the students will leave me at least 1 job! Have heard about the RSA course so will take that soon after arriving.. Sounds like a fair distance from terrigal to sydney so I'll just see what opportunities arise and then go from there, I doubt I'll stay in terrigal so will take an work an see where it leads me Cool, will look up how far terrigal to Newcastle is, have only searched for jobs in sydney so will have a gander at up there too.. You live up near terrigal yourself?

  12. Jeeez is it that hot in the summer?! I knew it was boiling but that sounds unbearable!
  13. Majority of people I speak too say they had the best time of they're lives while visiting oz, sounds like you guys all have and are still having too, can't wait to experience it myself! Off the subject but while i remember to ask, Any ideas on how I prove to the australian government that I have the 2000 pounds in my account which I've been told to do so?? Cheers

  16. Yeah it is prob easier when your young, I did things the wrong way round, settled with girls in my teens! No ties now tho apart from my family so all good. 10pm haha even I stay up until 11ish at my tender old age!
  17. Will prob do it after new years then, planning on saving enough to have the crimbo an NY that won't be forgotten in a hurry  .. Ah right, bet you can't wait to leave as well, been boiling in Wales today mind, thought about selling my visa to an asylum seeker at 1 point!! :err:
  18. Ha in which way mate??
  19. Yes stacey I really want to get a job that offers sponsorship, I may do my 3 months specialised work as someone advised earlier so that'll give me around 18 months to sort sponsorship out, hopefully won't take that long tho ha. What are you doing over in oz?
  20. Ahh thanks, your all proper on this forum  Good advice bob, I've been racking my brain on a job, which type etc but I'll just accept anything until I can settle in 1 that I eventually like. Hoping to land a sales job in Sydney and have seen on seek that there are quite a few. What are the difference in Australian people to the brits, if any??
  21. Cheers guys, put my mind at ease! It's because I am going on my own and not with a partner i think a few people were saying 'he should be settled down' etc etc but if we were all the same life would be pretty boring! The whole do it before your 31 visa was a bit of a concern too, seems like the ages vary quite alot tho, which is the way it should be
  22. Haha cheers, I'll get used to this forum! .. I'm just hoping I land a decent job and stay there for at least the term of the visa
  23. Yeah sounds like an idea thanks rupert. I think I will live with him for a few weeks until I get a job in Sydney then try and find a room share in the city. He said I can stay for as long as I want but would want to get settled ASAP. Thanks again.
