  1. Thanks all. Even though its a bad news but being NZ citizen i can still live in Australia.
  2. My 40th birthday is on May 1 and I will lose age based points after that. Do I have to submit my application before May 1 for state nomination or does it have to be for visa application with immigration department to keep my points? Thanks in advance.
  3. I work full time and also GST registered for business. My work tax is deducted by employer. I have to file GST Activity Statement for other business activities that I do part time. Do I file AirBnB income in GST Activity Statement or do I file it in annual income tax returns?
  4. Thanks Captain. The rejection of PR visa can only be on the basis on not being able to qualify or having enough experience for designated skill from SOL. I asked this question because I vaguely remember a rule where you cannot apply for any visa for 3 years once you are rejected for a visa, not sure if this is correct.
  5. Hello forum members, I may be getting NZ citizenship in 2 years but planning to apply for Australian PR at the moment. If my application for PR is rejected and I eventually get an NZ citizenship, will that visa rejection cause any issues when I travel to Australia with NZ passport for work or visit?
  6. Hello folks, I am planning to apply for either Skilled Independent subclass 189 or 190. Using online calculators, I get 65 points. I'm not sure how the applications get picked up from pool (do all over 60 points get picked up?). Does anyone know if 65 points are enough to get an invitation to apply? If they are enough, how long could it take for this much points to get an invitation? Thanks.
  7. Thanks that was helpful. I have performed at-least 4 of the 8 duties listed on second link but the closely related core units are the academic units and do not describe the occupations. but still that clears a lot.
  8. Thank you all for your informative input. If you look at the occupation section of this page, it says experience in the field that is on SOL or a closely related occupation. This was causing me confusion. I think they should elaborate the term 'closely related occupation' a little bit more with examples to it clearer. I have seen many other posts on the internet asking the same question without any definitive answer. Those who have worked in this field know how broad Network / Systems Engineering can be nowadays.
  9. Hi all, I am confused about an occupation listed on SOL i.e. Computer Networks and Systems Engineer. I have experience in closely related fields and that are 'Computer Tech. Support, Systems support, Network Support but the work was closely related to Systems Engineering but not exactly the same. I wanted to know if immigration people accept qualifications and experience from closely related fields? (as there is a lot of mix up in IT, I have also worked in a vast array of fields like radio and fibre networks while working as Systems Engineer) or do they accept experience from the exact same fields? I don't know if they look at the experience in that way. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks.
  10. Hi all, I am looking to buy a second hand car probably a Toyota or Ford from 90s but I don't know how it works in Australia. I only know that I need to check the Registration which shouldn't be expiring soon. Is there anything else that I need to check? Are there any transfer of ownership charges? Additionally, can someone here familiar with cars tell me which one will be more reliable and fuel efficient as an old second hand car: Ford Laser,Toyota Camry or Mitsubishi Magna? these are the most common ones available in second hand market. Thanks.
  11. Hi all, I want to know if New Zealand PR holders (not citizens) are allowed to live or work in Australia? If not, do they get any other benefits in Australia? Thanks.
  12. Hi, I want to market a product to large sized companies in Australia. It has great potential here as it is very successful in other countries but it is useful only for large sized companies and I don't know how to approach such companies with business offers. Is there any online/offline way to do that?
