  1. I am using an agent and she received the confirmation letter by e-mail. I used the online portal to check the progress every day until the outcome was posted on it. I contact my agent to tell her the outcome and she received a copy of the successful letter within a couple of hours aswell. I was expecting to wait a lot longer as other people posting on here had said they had been waiting up to 5 months for an answer but it seems like they have sorted themselves out. Shouldn't be long until you get your answer as they received mine on 11/5/12. I would have thought you would have had your reply before mine, doesn't make sense does it. Fingers crossed for you.
  2. Sound like you hd a bit of a rollercoaste ride with the TRA. I don't know how I would have felt if it had happened to me but I am glad you persevered and got the result in the end. So, you are on the final leg, thats so exciting I guess. I have to wait until 2nd July because of WA suspending SS applications but I am pretty confident it will be fine. If you really want something then you always find a way. Good luck and fingers crossed for you
  3. Thank you. I wasn't very confident about passing the assessment as I had recently read so many posts about unsuccessful outcomes, so yes it is great news. I thought I would post it so anyone else waiting for their outcome can see that the TRA are also giving positive outcomes aswell. Fingers crossed everything else goes the same way. Good luck for the future and everything you want to achieve. It's great to have this site to speak and share the experience with people who are going through or have been through the same things
  4. I am a Pastry Cook. Are you doing the whole thing yourself or are you using an agent? I am using an agent as I wasn't confident enough to tackle it myself. My agent is lovely, I e-mailed her today to tell her the result was on-line and she unexpectedly rang me straight away to discuss what we are going to do next. My brother is a permanent resident and could have sponsered me if he could have filled in the form before Saturday but he is so stressed at work at the moment I feel I can't put the pressure on him. I am going to wait and see if my occupation is still on WA list and hopefully still go for State Sponsorship. I can't believe they made such a mistake with the NVQ certificate, it's typical when it's really important isn't it. I am sure they will sort it though when you speak to them. I am sure it won't be long before your hubby passes his assessment. Do you know if he has to do a practical? I am so glad I didn't have to, I thought everyone had to do one but luckily for my, my portfolio must have been enough evidence for them. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you. Please let me know how things are going
  5. Wow, congratulations on your gaining your visa and for your wedding day. Bet your on cloud nine. Enjoy and good luck for the future, hope all of your dreams come true
  6. Thanks very much shellyk666. Whats your situation at the moment? Have you sent off your paperwork??
  7. Thank you very much Val, much appreciated. I just finished my glass of wine and now wished I hadn't cos I have to be up at 4.30am. I don't think I will be able to sleep anyway, am too hyped up now. Cheers
  8. Just wanted to share my good news with POI. My TRA assessment was received by the TRA on 11/05/12 and has been awaiting assessment ever since, until today when I finally got the Successful outcome I was hoping for. I am over the moon to say the least. I have been browsing the threads on POI and was very sad to to see so many people getting unsuccessful results and was starting to think things weren't going to go my way. So, as you can imagine I am very happy and excited at the outcome but also very aware that I am very lucky to have passed without any problems. Well, I am going to celebrate with a glass of wine now and hope everyone awaiting assessment or re-assessment the best of luck.
  9. Mine is awaiting assessment since 11th May. Think I have a long wait still to go
  10. Hi Kilty I don't know why you are having a problem but I can let you know that I have just been on the TRA tracker portal and managed to log on without any problems. Hope you manage to sort it out. Cheers
  11. Finally got my results after worrying all day. Listening 9, Reading 9, Writing 8, Speaking 9 - Overall 9 Wow, I just can't believe it. I am a very happy bunny now. Well done to everyone who got the results they wanted and fingers crossed for those of you who are still waiting
  12. Still can't get my results, really wanted them before I went to work. Will have to wait until tonight now, I can't believe it. Good luck everyone, hope you all get the results you want.
  13. Good Luck Everyone!! I am sitting my test today in Sunderland. I need 8's so feel very stressed right now, especially about the writing.
  14. Hi everyone I am a newby to this site, I have been browsing for a few weeks now and have found it very helpful but I have a couple of questions and would appreciate any advice whatsoever. My documents are about ready to go to TRA for assessment and should be sent off beginning of next week but what happens next? Do they update you on the progress of your application and how? Do they do a telephone interview for all applications or just in certain circumstances? What sort of questions can be expected? How long should I expect the whole process to take? I am a Pastry Cook so anyone who has been through the process and can give me any advice, I would really appreciate it Cheers Elaine
  15. Hello Tosh Would just like to say a big thank you for your thread. I have my test on 12th May and am so nervous but your thread has answered most of my questions. The only thing that is worrying me is the writing test and how to tackle it should I get a subject I am not familiar with or do not understand. I have the practice book and when I looked at the first writing test example, I was stumped. It was regarding 'Causes of Worldwide Land Degradation', not something I know about. There is no way I could even start to write an essay on a subject I know nothing about and feel so anxious that this may happen in my real exam. I just don't know how I am going to write 150 or 250 words on something I don't understand (if it happens). Any advice??? Cheers
