  1. Many thanks for your help!
  2. I lived in WA for 3 years and have been back in the UK for over a year as my Dad is poorly. I have just been granted PR which I applied for off shore. The visa conditions state that to activate the residency I need to re-enter Australia before 3rd November 2015. My question is do I have to stay for a certain period of time or could I stay for three weeks or so and still retain my residency for the full four years?? Many thanks in advance
  3. Many thanks for the advice. I might sit tight and wait for my PR to come through
  4. That's what I wondered. I was going to come back in January but I don't think I would be let in on a bridging visa even if I did get one!
  5. Can it be lodged without the results of the medical??
  6. Hi there just a quick question. How long does it take for PR to granted if you are being sponsored by the company you work for. We have 457's that are due to run out in January and have submitted everything and are currently waiting for a date for our medicals. Will they push it through if our visas are going to expire?? many thanks in advance.
  7. Thank you for your help. My partner and I are still very much together although it's been a rough ride. I have been back a year this month as we were told last October that my Dad had less than a year to live. I couldn't leave him as I was fearing the worst. Our migration agent doesn't seem to think it will bea problem getting the PR but I'm getting really concerned. Everything has been submitted and I am waiting to hear about the medical
  8. Hi all, I'm sure this question has been asked many times but things may have changed. My De Facto partner and I have been living in Australia for nearly 4 years and our 457 is going to run out in January. His company are sponsoring us for our PR which is being processed at the moment. I am having to apply off shore as I'm in the UK with my Dad who is very poorly. My question is if my residency is approved through his company once I have it can it be withdrawn if we separate? Also what are the rules of being in the UK whilst I have residency for Australia. I have to be with my family right now but can it be withdrawn if I spend a certain amount of time off shore?? Many thanks in advance. I love this forum, so helpful!
  9. Try Skyscanner :-) Emirates usually come out with special offers too so look out for those!
  10. I was in this position last year. Came here on partners 457 and we broke up so I left for home (UK). I paid for my own flight and didn't consider that his company might have paid. I would imagine that the deal is that the company would pay for both of you to return if he lost his job/left his job or was made redundant. Because the 457 sponsorship is primarily in his name I would think he would have to be going with you. This is me just surmising but I would be interested to hear of anyone who knows more. Wishing you all the best, I know what a difficult time you must be having right now. Good luck x
  11. Some things are just not meant to be as my old Mum would say! A lot of people will envy you going back to the UK and having a plan once you get there, me being one of them! Good luck with everything, you have had an adventure and taken the opportunity to live a different lifestyle but home is calling! Australia will always be here for holidays if you so wish but enjoy settling into your new life in Bonney Scotland!! Sending you love & best wishes xxx
  12. She isn't asking for our advice or opinions, she's sharing her good news. I'm really happy for her. All the best Missus B xxx
  13. MB obviously knows where her heart lies and it doesn't matter if it takes 2 months or 2 years to decide. I think she deserves respect not to be questioned about her decision. It's her life and her choice. Good on her I say, she is a brave girl that's knows her own mind and I'm sure there are many people who are envious of that fact. I wish you all the luck in the world MB, you sound like the sort of person who will do we'll in life wherever you go. xxx
