  1. That's awesome! Very pleased for you! How long did you have a case officer for? When are you looking at leaving??

Thanks Jonathan, think we had a CO for a week, but not sure, they didn't request any additional information. Think about going after Easter

  2. Hi guys, just got the updates, don't think it's accurate , people who lodged after the dates shown here got their visas already but here it is :

Parramatta Centre of Excellence (COE) ENS cases which were received on 1 July 2011.

Parramatta Centre of Excellence (COE) RSMS cases which were received on 29 August 2011.

Melbourne Centre of Excellence (COE) ENS cases which were received on 1 September 2011.

Melbourne Centre of Excellence (COE) RSMS cases which were received on 1 August 2011.

    Perth is at 12/12!!!

sorry to hear that Jonathan, have no idea why , what explanation did your agent give you? Can you still lodge your application DRC?

  3. Congratulations Sophie! That's awesome news!

Just had an email back from my agent, albeit a little ambiguous, stating that DIAC have not considered the nomination application as decision ready - something after four and a half months we'd kind of assumed. Anyone have any idea as to the possible reasoning or explanation behind this?

Also anyone had the updates through yet?

  4. Not yet Katerina... I'm waiting on my boss over there to give me a start date. Looking at leaving in the next couple of weeks though! The excitement has started to wear off and now I'm starting to panic a little. Totally ridiculous since this is something I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for! But everyone around me has started to get really sad, I think I'm beginning to realise how hard moving to the other side of the world alone is actually going to be!

Hi Sophie, I am sure everyone is happy for you they will get use to it and you will be fine:biggrin:

i left my home country 10 years ago and we settled down in few months, this bit is easier for us as we have no family around us, depending on each other for a long time:)

good luck and keep in touch:)

  5. Hi guys, just been directed to this thread.

I am new on the forum and currently going through the process for a 119 visa for me and my partner.

Am currently waiting for my stage 2 nomination approval from Paramatta. Is it usual for them to take ages for the nomination alone? We have been waiting over 4 months and heard nothing! Going to apply for DRC visa asap after this has been approved.

Hope everyone is going ok with their application, best of luck to you all!

    Welcome Jonathan,

Some of the guys in here are waiting for their nomination approval over 6 months so it's not unusual. Ours non DrC was approved in 2 months.

  6. hey katerina...wd u b able 2 help m out wth my query as i m gng 2 c my agent tmrw...so tht i can discuss wth hm...

Hi sambo, my application was non DRC so I am sorry I can't help you as I don't know much about DRC applications .

    Regards

    Katerina

  7. Hi everyone

Finally after 6 months my visa has been granted today, what a great relief.

Here is my timeline Acknowledgment letter 2nd September 2011 in Parramatta, then wait till today, no news or nothing from CO. then Visa granted

    Great news undertaker88!!!!!Congratulations:)

  8. It's good that she is chasing it up for you then. Judging by what I've read on here once our applications are with a CO it shouldn't be that much longer to wait until we get a decision. Is it just me though or do the days seem to be getting longer the further along you get?!

I was officially offered my job back in October 2010, it took nearly a year of going back and forth to Aus just to get the application ready to be lodged. Its such a long and mentally draining process isn't it?! Thank god we only have to do this once. I hope getting citizenship isn't this bad! :err:

Woow that's a long journey for you too:(

this has been the most stressful year of my life, and it's not over yet.. I am back to checking my emails at 4 a.m.!!Hope it won't be too much longer, stress is not good for our health:animal-pig:

  9. Hi Katerina,

I have now been assigned my case officer, CO sent an e-mail to my employer saying that the nomination had been approved and had sent me an e-mail asking for some more information...had already sent police checks before (but sent originals, because i thought you had to) Fortunatly had certified copies of originals done, so i guess i will just send them again...

Timeline so far is as follows - RCB Approval (late August) Acknowledgement of Visa application 6th September, CO assigned 28th February (could have been earlier but e-mail sent to wrong address), Request for more information 28th Feb.... have that on hand to send today so hopefully not too long to wait!!!

Hi BLB I am delighted for you!!!fingers crossed it won't take long:wink:

Where did you lodge your application? It may give an idea to others about processing times:)

  10. Hey Katerina,

I had to ask my MA to request a status update from the DIAC. It took about a week to get a response to let me know I had been allocated to a CO.

    Have you tried that yet?

    SophieANn

My MA requested an update 2 weeks ago , one of the supervisor emailed her saying that our application will be with CO the following week-that would have been last week- and we haven't heard anything since then.. MA is on the way to Dublin for the Working abroad expo and said that she will email that supervisor again on Wed.. My husband got the Job on the 20th of April 2 0 1 1 !!!!!!

  11. Nothing new here, MA emailed today to tell me DIAC are swamped with decision ready cases at the moment so even they are taking longer than usual.

Hope someone hears something positive soon!

Hi SophieAnn, how did you find out that you have CO? Did they email you just to let you know they've got your case or they ask for extra info?

Hope someone has some positive news SOON

  12. I have no idea how you're doing it! Mine is DRC but it feels like I've been waiting forever already! Hope you hear something soon!

    Good luck everyone! :)

honestly i don`t know how we`ve made it so far..lodged in september!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and still waiting,my husband got the job in april last year..some patience the aussie employers must have ;)

    good luck

  13. Thanks for your quick reply! I have 4 weeks until i have been in my job 6 months. I didn't send a DRC (wish I had now) but i have submitted medicals, form 80 and police checks with my application. I should deff wait a week at least. Really its only my employer who needs the process to move before the 6 months, I am happy to take unpaid leave or even work unpaid.. I guess the main thing i worry about is having to leave because my partner is here, we have been together over a year and a half but as he lives 100ks from the nearset town so i moved away to get work, so i'm not sure how we would go with the defacto thingy and he can't move anywhere as he has a farm to run!

Ah well... honestly it really helps just being able to write stuff down and talk to people in the same situation that understand the stress. I am usually so relaxed but this is really really stressful!

    Keep us posted!

I know what you mean about the DRC BLB I am mad at myself for not doing that!!

Too late now, we just have to be patient , my 3 year old asks me every day when are we going to Oz and his favourite bedtime book is Australia travel guide!

    Good luck :-)

  14. Yesterday afternoon we received notice from our CO that our RSMS application has been approved! What a relief!

We did a 457 and 857 back to back. The amount of paperwork and cost has been daunting. The CO was strict but fair and always replied to our emails. This was a non-DRC application submitted with the nomination 20 Oct. Made a request to have application expediated due to hardship. Finally granted after second request.

Very unfortunate with last outstanding document, a police clearance certificate. First the South African police clearance was not applicable, then the Queensland police clearance not admissable, then the Australian Federal Police police clearance certificate got "lost" in the post, it was posted again and it turned out it was the wrong code 30 instead of code 33 (AFP admitted it was their mistake) and finally the CO got it yesterday!

Hang in - be patient and persevere. Opinions and emotions aside, strictly facts and proof thereof!

    Great news CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  15. Hi Katerina, am glad you have been appointed a CO. That makes me feel so much better that things are going ahead at Melb. I still havent yet received a CO despite having submitted a DRC nomination in July 2011. My Migration agent is following up with DIAC every week but they dont seem to respond to her emails. So frustrating!

I dont know whether to wait for the nomination to be approved and submit a DRC application OR submit a non DRC application and wait... I have put this question across to the migration agent. Hope to get a reply from her soon

Thanks alfredv, I am not sure if we have CO yet, the supervisor said it will be with CO this week but god knows .., it only happened because my husband's employer got fed up and demanded some REAL answers , so fingers crossed.

I am just so sorry we didn't lodge it DRC :-( too late now

i really hope you get some answers soon, can only imagine how stressed you must be, good luck

  16. Hi Katerina,

Just thought you would be a good person on this forum to ask for advice. I am working on for my employer and i am waiting to complete the process of 857 rsms visa.

Basically as i am on the conditions of my old visa I have a six month work restriction. As my six months in nearly up my employer is wondering what will happen as i won't be able to work until a decision has been made. My job is funded by the state governmnet through a local government and my HR told me they are not sure I can take unpaid leave as they have a requiremnet to fill the role with someone. My HR manager and myslef have contacted immigration and the only way to waiver my work restriction is to prove financial hardship, which i can't as i am working. I also need to renew the rent on my house! Do you think these are good grounds to conatct case officer?

Yesterday I spoke to someone who told me my case has been given to a case officer and gave me her e-mail address. However, i only know that because the guy i spoke to at Parramatta told me, however my case officer hasn't been in touch. Do you think it is best just to wait a while until i contact my case officer. I am so worried i will have waited all this time only to run out of time! I don't want to pester them! i get scared i will do something of detreiment to my application!

Looking at past threads you seem to have good advice. How is your application going? good luck and thanks in advance

Thanks BLB, as I said before I am not an expert! How much time do you have? Was your application DRC? Most people on here who had DRC application had decision in few days. I got an email saying that we will have CO this week and that CO will be in touch within 1 week if additional info is needed, so I think they either ask for the extra info or approve it in 1 week , so maybe wait a week and if you hear nothing send very polite email

    sorry I can't help much

good luck and let us know how did you get on

  17. Our MA has not enough knowledge about rsms bz he is a business lawyer , so he said if u interested then he could contact to CO to getting info about my apication status. Plz advise me we should contact to co or not. I am currently living in aus on student visa and my visa is going to finish in first week of march, so am really stressed. Why CO taking to much time. Is that normal or unusual.

Hi I am not an expert, but from talking to my MA and reading here for few months I think the general advice is not to contact the CO! But if you are in a risk Of running out of time I would send VERY polite email to the CO expressing your concerns.. That's my opinion :-)

try not to stress out too much, it can take anything from 1 day to few weeks for CO to make the decision

Is there no bridging visa you could go on in the mean time? Your MA should advice you on this
