  2. Hi All, Hope someone can help me? I've been Australia 3 years on a 457 visa. My now ex-spouse was on my visa as a dependent. We got divorced which was a lengthy process. (She's now got her own sponsorship for a 457.) If I want to be with someone else who is from outside of Australia, what is the process to follow to apply taking I came over with someone and got divorced in Australia? Is it just a matter of applying to immigration for having a spouse/dependent? If we get married where is the best place? In, or outside of Australia? I don't want to go about this the wrong way, and mess things up for both of us not able to be together. Advice appreciated and Thank you in advance.
  3. Hi, Two questions please. Hope someone can answer. My employer made people redundant including me. (457 visa) After 8 months looking for an alternative I gave up. (Im on a bridging visa and all in order) Basically they "own" my backside until someone took over my visa sponsorship. This didn't materialise so I am still their responsibility. Though I applied for roles I am still waiting hear back from possible jobs. I asked my employer rather than buying me a ticket to give me a "reasonable" amount in cash as I want to fly via NZ then to the US towards London. So I will buy my own way as I go. I wrote to them this will cancel any obligations towards me. I need to cover and plan for the following. Questions 1 After some thinking My worry is, what if I get a sponsor in the next month? Will the money they gave me influence me taking another job? (Of course will give the money back should i be lucky, but will I forfeit my continues workpermit or will it affect anything you are aware of) Question 2 My wife is over with me on a spouse visa. They only sponsored me, however as I understand they are under obligation to buy tickets for us both. (They made me redundant so I didn't quit.) Thank you!
  4. Hi Guys and ladies, I found a new employer that is willing to take over my 457 visa. This organisation is an NGO (Though Government supported and established) within the same state as my previous role. My questions: How do I go about starting the process for this organisation to take over my 457. Also Online? (Im familiar with the process) I told them I will help with where to start. From what I understand is these organisations get preference above normal companies when it comes to the time frame etc. (I told them takes about 2 weeks to transfer a 457) Is this something they can easily do online, or do I need a agent and a shrink for this one too? :arghh: is there anything difference, or advantages for an organisation like this when applying? I am assuming they don't need to be a business sponsor, as they get special treatment? Am I wrong? Any help, and links would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
