  1. Hi ya everyone, Been living in Sanctuary lakes for 7 months now and have yet to here another welsh accent:wink: Are we the only valley folk here  xx
  2. We are with the pinnacle on sneynes road too, they are fantastic
  3. Hi there, I know your here now and probably just finding your feet, just wanted to say good luck, and I hope your settling ok. We moved here last June to sanctuary lakes near point cook with hubby and 2 children aged 14yrs + 8yrs and thankfully we all love it here, I am sure you will too  x
  4. I really feel for you, our children are exactly the same ages as yours and it would break my heart if they were unhappy, but please don't feel guilty about bringing your family over for them then to be unhappy, unfortunately we get thrown a curve ball sometimes and just have to work out the correct way of catching it  I would sit down with all your family and think long and hard if it's just the area and job your in that's the issue or if it's being in Australia altogether. If it's just area and job then you made the right decision in coming here, you just need to the small changes now to make you all happy. If it's being away from the UK that's the underlying issue then you can start the ball rolling to make the move back home. I really hope you manage to find the right answers and find happiness.
  5. We finally got to see our boy and girl today and it soooooo fab to see them again!! Our Siberian husky was as if she had seen us yesterday hee hee, big kisses jumping all over us and not at all affected by the experience of getting here. She ate her treats and started playing with us. Our Old English sheepdog stood at the back of the kennel when we first set eyes on him looking scared. Then he urinated where he stood! Nothing new him being scared really, as he is scared of mostly everything, he is such a big softy. But it was strange to see him acting so nervous in kennel as its not a new experience for either of them other than its another different kennel.. So I think he is a little stressed over the traveling side of it all. So I went in, bent down called him, he looked at us all for about 3 seconds and that was it. He flew at us. He was bouncing from one of us to the other, we were all soaked with all the licking. He didn't want any treats or to play with their new toys for the first half hour was just wanting to be with us. It was so heart warming bless him. He then gobbled his treats down in one hee hee.So we will be back there tomorrow to spend another few hours playing in the grasses area. We were really impressed that they had been seen in the first 24hrs of landing by the vet and all paperwork completed so we were able to take them straight over to the grasses area and just play! Just counting down the days till the 24th august when they come home. Thanks for all your support peeps, will keep you informed of how they are getting on in there xxx
  6. Yeah we rang them at 11am and they are settling fine. Spotswood informed us that they had travelled well and just had to get over the jet lag, they were fast asleep  Will be there tomorrow to give them that huge hug, if I can wrestle the children off them first!!
  7. yeah will definately ring, what time do you think they will be in spotswood? I think its worse knowing they are finally here! we just all want to jump in the car and see them now  but tomorrow will soon come xx
  8. Ok couldn't stay in bed any longer, had to check if they landed on time and they landed 30mins early so.................................................... THEY ARE IN MELBOURNE!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO  Cant wait till we see then tomorrow!! Its been a long 4 weeks without them, but at least we can visit them for the next 4 weeks
  9. They are now in singapore, due to take off again in 20mins for the final leg!! Been tracking their flight all day, beats tracking our container ship, at least a plane gets here quicker
  10. Thank you so much. It's so great to hear all your positive endings  We can't wait for those beach trips and park walks, not long now

    Dog food

Hi everyone, We are just looking into this, and have been for the last few weeks as our dogs land here (melbourne) on wednesday  Is eagle Pack available in the shops or is it internet based? We used to feed Taste of the wild in the UK. That is available here (shipped from Sydney) but if there is a brand available that matches the quality in the shops that would be great!
  13. Thanks, I don't think I have ever felt soooooo nervous! Think I may sleep till they land on wednesday
  14. Well after 4 long weeks under the lovely care of the team at Goldren Arrow, Dougle and Kaya leave them today to make the trip over to us in Melbourne. We cant wait to see them on Thursday Yahooooo  Counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds............. I must say goldren arrow have been absolutely fantastic and we would highly recommend them to anyone flying their pets anywhere  I know dougle and kaya will miss them (especially fizz!!) and we will miss the chats and updates!
  15. We cannot wait for that day!! They fly a week tomorrow, worried about them travelling (eapecially the old english, he is such a scaredy cat) but excited to know that they will be here soon and we can see them at last  yahoooo
  16. Thats brilliant!!! we cant wait to start our adventures when our two come home
  17. I will keep everything crossed that things work out for you. Hang in there I am sure you will get that husky of yours really soon  xx
  18. They sound very similar  you will love sibes then, sounds like your used to all the bad bits already hee hee. i hope you get one soon, and when you do be sure to pm us some pics ok xx
  19. OMG they are stunning :wubclub: Sibes can get bored easily and start to chew to entertain themselves. But we have been involved in rehabilitating (due to abuse) sibes for the last 15yrs and each and everyone is different. however they all love being crated, they love having their own space so you could always crate train and pop them in there when your out of the house. I have never known a sibe destroy anything whilst there are people around. they also love the company of other dogs so tell you OH that you sinply have to get two. They are more demanding than other breeds in that they need a good few hours walk each and everyday or your life wont be worth living, especailly if you get a vocal one hee hee. and the hair OMG!! we can ne grooming for over an hour everyday for 3-4weeks before she stops blowing her coat. they cant be trusted offlead due to their praydrive, the little bliters wont come back if there is something interesting to chase hee hee Those are the bad bit.....hee hee. the good bits are, they are superb with children, ours comes to get me even if the children fall over in the garden! They speak to you.....constantly! Ours even tells us when its bed time and wont go to bed till we do. etc etc etc but be warned they are highly addictive and 1 can lead to a full pack of 6 or more
  20. fairystar32 You should get one. They are honestly terrific dogs and so human!! ours has us wrapped round her little dew claw  and despite apparently not being good with cats ours has lived with 3 for the last few years without any problems at all. Infact she loved the cats
  21. yup  cant begin to describe how much, they are the only piece of us left behind now and the only part stopping all this being a dream come true, but not long now till we are waiting outside spotswood for them to open  we cant wait!!
  22. We have an old english sheep dog and a sun loving siberian husky. Our sibe will love it here, I dont think she realises that she is supposed to love cold artic conditions, she follows the sun around the garden all day to make sure its on her at all times. not sure what she will make of the high 30's mind you, but will have a paddling pool ready just in case. Having said that she hates water so that should be interesting  Our old english should be fine, he is an adorable dopey boy who isn't at all bothered what the weather is doing as long as he is by our side. He is my shadow bless him, I cant begin to tell you how much we are missing them. We are buying them treats and toys everytime we leave the house, we must have two carrier bag full by now hee hee. Counting down the days will we see those faces.............:wubclub:
