Just wondered if you are still waiting Bloomberg!! haven't forgotton about you still check this thread. So whats the latest??? :daydreaming:

My thoughts exactly! I keep coming back for Bloomberg! :sad:

i have looked around, apparently, nobody who has come online to talk about it has ever been matched, regardless of the occupation. i did put my information in anyways, and there were no matches (as predicted). For the level of need for electrical engineers in Oz, i can only assume that employers have not actually gone on there to look for people.

 

I would recommend www.seek.com.au to anyone when it comes to job searches.

Or maybe the database is new and employers are unfamiliar with it yet? Either way, are you going to look for work from overseas or are you planning on applying from home? Also, did you validate your visa yet? I don't mean to ask so many questions and excuse me if I do lol, but I'm learning about this process as I go along myself! :laugh:

to the guys who've got their PRs granted, did you all get that email as well about the skilledmigrant website? i didnt know they did that... or is that a new thing... as part of the skillselect process? i havent gone in there yet but apparently, it can help match people to prospective employers...

I got that email as well. I didn't know about that website. In fact, I thought they were going to decommission a similar database. Now the question is, I wonder if employers really use it.

Sigh! I don't think I will rest until Bloomberg has their Visa! I'm beginning to feel as if I don't have mine and I'm waiting alongside Bloomy! :embarrassed:

I support you too, bloomberg! I just came back from a small holiday and was surprised to see that you haven't been granted your visa yet. It's true, your patience is admirable, but it's time to release the big bad Jambos wolf!! That always works lol

amazing how much lesser time we spend on this thread once we have the grant! I do still have that mixed anxious-exciting feeling, but not of getting the visa, more like if we'll succeed in getting work and moving to Oz

Things are really hotting up on here. Congrats to all those who have been granted their visa's in the past few days. Just checked my email when I got in from work and I have a lovely email from a newly assigned CO asking me to submit medicals and police checks.

 

Only applied at end of March and although I've seen others turning pink I wasn't expecting anything for a while yet. Gotta get the medical sorted and police checks sorted tomorrow then.

This is so awesome! oh, now we all have to cheer and send good vibes to Your grant needs to be next!! :arghh:

I just received my grant.

Just wanted to thank you guys for all of your support,and I wish for those of you who are waiting a speedy grant! Also, this board is an amazing source of wealth - thank you so much again!!

By the way, my medicals were finalised on 28 May, and a day later today, I received my grant. :biggrin::biggrin:

Have you got everything sorted now? As in pcc and meds and any other requests. We've got our medicals tomorrow but the results will be loaded electronically.

I have everything done and all is marked as "met" in the system except for medicals. I already went to the doctor (at the CO's request) and my results were mailed (not uploaded as we don't have ehealth). It took a whole week for the results to be mailed to Sydney (I was able to use a tracking number the doctor's office gave me). But, they're not showing up in the system. I imagine a huge room filled with medicals from all over the world and the staff having to sort through all of them.

I can't talk to Poeribbo's experience, but I've had mine delivered in the last week.

 

My medicals were delivered to Sydney last Monday by the courier company, but my medicals were only marked as 'received' online last week Friday, so a 4-5 day period is what I experienced.

ugh, just checked my online status and my meds are still "outstanding" even though they've been received Monday am in Sydney (according to the carrier). It's now Wednesday in Sydney, wonder if my meds will be acknowledged :cry:

Has your status changed from "received" to finalised or met yet, Patrick??

Hey Poeribbo don't worry about the documents still showing as required. Ours still show as required now even though our visa has been granted lol!!

yeah, but I think it depends what team you're with. My boxes have been clicked as met except for medicals. So if I don't see medicals updated, I'll assume it hasn't been! :sad:

Congratulations!! By the way, how long did it take for your medicals to be entered into the system after they got to Sydney? I ask because I tracked mine and it was "delivered" according to the carrier, but my documents checklist still read "outstanding".

hope so Mattster! yeh, they have everything now. Its all in their hands! both the kids meds are now showing as finalisedmine and the OH are both showing as received as of yesterday, so hopefully they will be finalised sometime soon. We uploaded pccs as soon as we got them back and the originals were flown out on the same day (last tues) so they should be somewhere in Oz by now! All the other documents were sent last June when we applied! its been a long haul but we're getting used to this waiting room lark! lol! :wub:. I bet youre still on cloud 9! lol!

lol I am so happy that your case is moving - your situation was so torturous - to have the ABPF and no sort of communication from the office for ages! :smile:

Our medicals that were lost on Friday were found and finalized on Saturday! All requirements now met. There is a fine line between waiting patiently and waiting in vain! I would recommend an email to your CO if meds haven't changed to "received" within 5 to 10 working days.

This shall then be an exciting week for you, Heine! :smile:

keepherlit - thanks for responding to my question. I wonder, though if I should email my CO regarding the meds being on their way, or if I should wait for them to get there. I've heard horror stories about people's meds reaching Sydney and the CO not receiving them. I think that happened to Heine, but it happened to more people from other forums.

At the same time, I really don't want to email them but wait patiently.

So I guess I ask, what have those who didn't use an agent do with regards to meds, did you tell them they were on their way, or did you just sit patiently?

Just a brief question -

When someone gets his or her meds done, does he/she have to go to tell the CO? Or is that something that is automatically delivered from the doctor's office to Oz, and we have no say in it?

When we checked the progress of our application online about a week after the medicals on the document checklist page they were coming up as received. A few days later they were finalised apart from our daughter - her's are referred. Agggh the waiting is TORTURE!!!! Just can't wait 'til we can post that we finally got a visa grant!!

 

You should hear really soon - that's super news for you. A grant should be winging its way to you next week!!! Fingers crossed for you.

 

If you want to you can also contact the medical centre where your medicals were carried out and they can check there for you too. We did this because mine were marked as referred when actually there was no problem - its another avenue to try. I really think you'll get positive news soon though

Well, I contacted the doctor's office, but they told me that the lab results (for the blood test) will be available come Monday, or Tuesday, in which case, they'll mail out the results on Wednesday. So... I'm wondering, Oz should receive them probably by 21 May - around that time. I guess I won't hear anything on a visa grant until around late May if not early June.

The doctor's office did not give me anything like a report, etc. Just a "thank you for using our services". :eek:

Are you able to see your meds on your evisa system? Just wondering, cause I just had mine done last Wednesday and I'm wondering if I'll get to view that information...
