  1. Well this gibbering jelly head:goofy: must have made a good impression during my first interview as I have been put forward for a 2nd on Tuesday with the “Big boss” :GEEK:so I have a dilemma now do i maintain the jelly head style that I turned the first interview in to or do I try a composed and organised approach for the second :wideeyed: Oh no. The email said that the interview will last for approx 1 hour oh boy :wub:at least I can have a load of post it notes and the laptop to hand to answer any awkward questions.:swoon: I’m not complaining though. A job would be fantastic. :jiggy::notworthy::hug:

Well done you clever thing:GEEK: I'm sure you'll do just fine, good luck:hug:

  2. We were team 2 as well.

Trying to persuade my OH that we should use a migration agent now, think he is just a bit concerned about money..... will keep trying :chatterbox: <<<<<<<<<<this was me last night!!!!!

Keep nagging:laugh: Us women know whats right :wubclub::yes:

  3. I don't know but I would research on here and see what you can find, the person came back and said he will not up his offer so will have to go back to the drawing board.

Still, it;s good to have an offer so quickly, even if it's not enough. On wards and upwards

I have a viewing today, don't think it will come to anything though. i really hate people walking round my house nosing around  Our estate agents are doing all the first viewing's so at least i won't be able to there hear the comments!!

  4. So, not good news from our camp I'm afraid, no right to appeal the decision. So gutted......

Dont know where we go from here??? I dont want to give up on my dream just yet.............

Maybe state sponsorship???? will spend some time later looking into it but not really sure how it all works.................????????

Best start saving them pennies!!! if we do anything its going to have to been sooner rather than later...OH turns 45 next November and would like to get it before the July 2012 changes...

Oh dear, i'm so sorry to hear that, but glad your going to re-apply. I really do wish you all the best and i'm sure you will still be on this thread to keep us all company :cute: Good luck

  5. So I had the person come for the second viewing on my house last night and would like to know how much for me to take it of the market, we have another viewing tonight!!!

Wow, that's great, bet your so pleased

  6. Yes, have started a thread and emailed George Lombard, not sure whether we can appeal against it? Going to see what advice we get and whether it means applying all over again, its so frustrating. for the sake of a few weeks!! Have spent the morning looking to see if I can apply in my profession?

not a good day in this house today.......................:arghh::arghh::arghh:

It's great you contacted George Lombard, i have heard great things about him, it is definately what i would have done. Keep us posted and wishing you the best x

  7. Omg.......devastating news to wake up to

we have been refused our visa!!!!

I am in tears and dont know what to do next.

Oh's work experience in oz was from jan 2007-may 2008,(which is over 12 months) however they are using the dates june 2007- june 2011 for the relevant 12 months experience. So his is 4 weeks short of the 12 months,

i am so upset that this has happened and would like some advice please, does anyone know who i can get some advice from....please please please hellp me.....

Oh i'm so so sorry to hear this, do you have an agent? if not go and see one, i'm sure you can prove your work experience if you explain in more detail x i wish you all the very best of luck :hug:

  8. So we had our viewing on Saturday and my agent came back to me just over an hour after to say they would like to view again next Saturday, had a phone call today to say they would like to view this Tuesday night instead.

Oooo that's great, hope it goes well x Good luck

  9. My and OHs medicals say 'referred' on the online status. Kids' are finalized. Our agent says that that means that it is send over to a 'medical officer of the Commonwealth’ because something may be wrong or unclear. Does anyone know if this is bad news or just something that can happen??

Did the Doctor say there was a problem with any part of the Medicals/X-Ray/Bloods or urine tests?? If no then i shouldn't think you should worry, for some reason many peoples med's get referred, then finalised a few days later.

  10. I've been on a holiday to Turkey once! Israel and Jordan. And Germany of couse...very high risk. I've been waiting for 3 months now. I see that you've only had to wait for 1 month. :chatterbox: I emailed my CO so many times. They only say: be patient!

    btw. I'm from The Netherlands.

I can only guess but seeing as you got the e-mail saying 'your external checks are going on please be patient', which they usually do for HR applicants, there must be something in your application (possibly trip to Jordan/Israel) that is flagging up. I think external background checks are done by the Australian equivalent of FBI.

I suggest you wait and not contact CO, they will be in touch when all checks are finished and not before, and could take as long as 12 months. I wish you best of luck

  11. Could you ask your Agent to forward the email he sent on your behalf or in future when he is emailing on your behalf to attach you in this isn't difficult to do, reason I say this is as I don't believe my agent sent any emails on my behalf as he said he was until the day I said I would contact them myself if he wasn't getting any response and the next day I had an email from my agent with my visa grant just remember you pay your agent to work for you, good luck

Yes Tania i agree, good idea

  12. "External checks"? How long does it take for Low Risk countries? Anyone knows? :chatterbox:

I guess it depends, every case is different and it's difficult to respond with so little information.

Have you visited/lived in any high risk countries in the last 10 years? born in a high risk country? only your CO will know the answer. some people from HR backgrounds wait up to a year to complete background checks. If you have not lived/worked/visited ant HR countries, then maybe you should ask CO.

  13. They say this:

Unfortunately it is a waiting game at this stage.

I wish to confirm that we have emailed your case officer and continue to monitor your application online – your medicals are showing as finalised and your documents are currently showing as ‘met’ of which we have informed your case officer of this.

Your case officer, will no doubt be receiving several emails from not just applications from the UK but also applications that she has been allocated to from around the world.

Therefore it is now just a waiting game and unfortunately, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship do not give exact estimates on how long it will take to process an application due to different factors such as work load, priority cases etc having an effect all the time it takes case officers to assess and make a decision on individual visa applications.

Rest assured, as soon as we hear from your case officer, we will contact you straight away.

sounds like the usual responce:policeman: at least they have e-mailed you CO, or so they say, how annoying

  14. Don't know whats got into the OH this morning, he looked like a rabbit in headlights as he was leaving for work, i asked him what was wrong and he said that it has hit him all of a sudden that we will be leaving the safety of a great job, nice home, basically everything and generally freaking out :goofy:, then asked me how i seemed so calm about it  where has he been the last 7 months when we were waiting for our visa n i turned into a basket case psycho nut freak..... I'm done with stressing out for now as i have done enough in the last few months to last me 10 lifetimes

  15. Hi I'm a maintenance fitter, in an FMCG enviroment making cookies and stuff like cadburys fingers and snack bars.

I have been sending my C.V out sorry Resume for a few weeks now and this week have had 2 responses one was a no thanks and this today. I also have another company who want to interview but they will only do it once I land. sounds like they might have been bitten before.

That's a great response for work opportunities, maybe having fitter taken off the sol for a while was a good thing, less people flooding the market for fitter jobs. That's really great for you as you have already waited so long for your visa. Very best of luck with the interview x

  16. :shocked:OMG I have a telephone interview with a company that I have applied for a job with.:jiggy: All of you that know me will know what that means, ARRRRRGGGGHHHH major panic:wacko:, what do I do:swoon:. Should I have been applying for jobs so early, do I, if offered move out there and leave hubby and kiddies at home to sell the house (I’am not being apart for Christmas)

This is so exciting as I thought I might not get looked at being a newbie Sheila looking for a blokes job.

    :arghh:Arrrrggggghhhhhh.:arghh:

In life only 2 things happen in the correct order.

Congratulation, What do you do for a job (if im not being too nosey:embarrassed:) my hubby has started applying for work in oz and we had this discussion what we would do if he actually got offered a job n we had not sold the house:eek:.. I guess it depends how good the job turns out to be and if the $$$ is any good. I very much doubt they would expect you to start before Xmas anyway as most people have to give work notice of leave. GO FOR IT, you can always say no.... GOOD LUCK :notworthy:
