Hi All
My company has agreed to process my 186 and as of last week it has been lodged as decision ready. I have received my acknowledgement letter and I've been given a Bridging A subclass 010 visa while this is being processed. (I still have 2 years left on my 457)
On the Ack letter it says
"you may be able to access a range of services offered by the Australian government such as benefits from Centrelink and Medicare. ...... for further information check their website....."
I have a 4 year old in kinder so I'm really keen to access the child care rebate. I rang them today and they said that I am not entitled to anything from Centrelink until my PR 186 is processed.
Can anyone tell me if they were able to access centrelink on the bridging visa?
I have read that I can get my medicare cards by showing this letter, again can anyone confirm this?
Thanks a million
Angel
