  1. Hi All My company has agreed to process my 186 and as of last week it has been lodged as decision ready. I have received my acknowledgement letter and I've been given a Bridging A subclass 010 visa while this is being processed. (I still have 2 years left on my 457) On the Ack letter it says "you may be able to access a range of services offered by the Australian government such as benefits from Centrelink and Medicare. ...... for further information check their website....." I have a 4 year old in kinder so I'm really keen to access the child care rebate. I rang them today and they said that I am not entitled to anything from Centrelink until my PR 186 is processed. Can anyone tell me if they were able to access centrelink on the bridging visa? I have read that I can get my medicare cards by showing this letter, again can anyone confirm this? Thanks a million Angel
  2. Hi I commute from Mentone to the CBD everyday. If you need the loop then you just swap at Richmond and you'd never have a longer wait of more than 3 minutes. My train journey is about 30 mins as most are express trains on the Frankston line. We are moving to edithvale shortly which will add another 3 stops to my journey. I have work colleague who live in Mount Eliza and his journey takes him 1hr 10 mins door to door. As you are getting on the train at the first stop you are also guaranteed a seat. I love my travel time, a good book and its my relaxation time. The only thing that's a killer is if you have after work drinks and it goes on until after the last train (midnight) the taxi fair will cost you home.
