  1. I know, I was very excited when our local station got one the other week. However when I put my card in I had to pre-select an amount (in 10s) which was no use as I wanted to fill the tank. I assumed it would be like in the UK where you can fill up to any amount up to a set limit. So I ended upi having to go inside to pay anyway...
  2. It also seems that people who enjoy living in Australia always say that those who leave have failed to integrate (or failed in some other way). Some people like living in Australia and others don't. Simple as that, it's not a matter of success or failure. It just seems that a lot of the time people who like it have the same opinions as each other and vice versa.
  3. Absolutely identify with a lot of what she said. A couple of things reminded my of a time last year when I was getting back into my car after paying for my petrol (looking forward to the ultra high-tech convenience of Pay-at-pump when we get home) and saw a charming barefoot (obviously) young man getting out of his car with the plate "PANTYDROPPA". Now that is class!
  4. Sorry you didn't get it. It looked lovely (seeing the garden made me feel home sick!). Something else as wonderful will come along - as you say no point ending up with a huge mortgage (especially if it needs work). Let us see the next one that comes along!
  5. How long did the citizenship process take? We are still undecided about it...
  6. Hi, we have been in WA for about 8 months, my husband has been working as a boilermaker, but wants to get his grade A licence so he can continue working as an electrician. He has over 20 years experience and has his ARTC. He has his letter of approval from the department on commerce to do his electrical trades licensing course. The problem we have encountered is that the board recommends that he apply for a permit to work under supervision to gain practical experience in electrical installing work. Can anyone offfer any help/advice re finding an electricain who would be willing to supervise him while he got the required experience? Anyone been in the same situation? Find it easy to get the experience? Also, do you know how much experience they require? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Lynne
