Hi everyone, My OH and I are Aussie PR. We plan to travel to oz on 15 January as a permanent move. We have applied for our new baby's 101 visa but it has not come through yet. I called the visa section at the High Commission on two different occasions and was told that it was ok for the baby to enter on an ETA and then leave the country when the 101 comes through. I also sent an email and the response was different-they said not a good idea as you need to convince border officer that baby is a genuine tourist. My question is...has anyone actually done this successfully? Were you asked any questions at the border about your child being on a tourist visa? Has anyone gotten a different answer from immigration/high commission? Really appreciate your help as we are booked to travel 22 hours with a baby in less than two weeks and worried we are going to be turned away!!! Thanks!!

Hi there, We were granted a 176 visa last year. We just found out that we are expecting our first child and will have to apply for a 101 visa for the baby after he or she is born. My question is about police checks. Do we need to get all new checks, or just checks from where we have lived since the grant? It seems silly that I would have to get all new checks if I haven't been back to countries in question since the visa wS granted.... Thx for any help you can provide! A

Cronulla is just amazing, I lived there for a year on my WHV. It's where we would like to return to, but seems like we could never afford to buy more than a one bed flat there. But it's a great place to live, lots to eat, drink, pubs, restaurants etc. BeAches are lovely and there is a gorgeous esplanade that you can walk around the coast.

Thanks for writing this! We were recently granted our visas and I'm doing lots of research. Although it was always the plan to go to Sydney, it seems that life will be just as expensive there as in London. It seems that real estate is much cheaper on the central coast and beaches just as beautiful!
