  1. Hiya, Ive sent my application for WA sponsorship but they need more info, why we chose the Peel, Wheatbelt and South west as out choices. Put the housing, job opportunites and access to facilities etc..but they need more, any advice?? Any help would be appreciated!! Steph

  5. Hi, As part of my sponsored visa for Western Australia, i have to live outside the metropolitan area...im really struggling to make sense of this. Its a bit hard to work out where this is, i seem to have found places i think are outside this, but they are a long, long, long way out of Perth. Anyone help me?!!! Steph

Ive got a Vauxhall Vectra C 56 (07) hatchback 1.9 CDTI SRI. Got air con cruise control, climate control. Done 83,000 Diesel. Manual and front wheel drive.   8. Hi Petals, As part of the sponsorship we have to emigrate to Canberra, seems ok but not sure my oh will find work there. It doesnt seem to have many major financial companies and limited opportunities? Steph
  9. Hi Danielle, Thanks for the help. It does sound possible then. We dont have a fancy lifestyle with nice cars and expensive goods, so if we manage to secure jobs we should be ok. Have struggled before on nothing, so should be ok!! Cheers Steph

  11. Hi Helchops, Thanks for the kind words, we dont have an luxurious lifestyle by any means, but we were worried we would get there and just not have enough to get by whilst looking for work. We think we might leave our house and rent it out as we dont want to sell it straight away, so we would have very little saved up. My other half is careful (tight!!) with money, so we should be ok.   12. My other half is a little worried he might not find it easy to get a job in oz. Hes been employed as financial underwriter for 12 years and thought there might be plenty of roles in oz, but i think these are getting few and far between??. Anyone know much about this area for work? Steph

I know its a bit late to worry about this as we have made the decision to emigrate now, but how much would we need to bring with us to live on, pay rent up front...basically we dont think we will have loads of money to bring with us and are a little worried! Have people started with nothing or a little money, or do we need to bring a decent amount, say 5-10k? Any help would be appreciated Steph :confused:

  16. Hey Eddie111 Ive got to retake my english test...just missed out on the reading part....make sure you practice!!!. Which agent are you using, were using Go Matilda, really helpful. They have people who deal with the skills assessment side. Have you contacted them? Steph
  17. Hey Eddie, Are you going through an emigration agent? I had to list every single skill that was involved in being a butcher....cutting steaks, mince etc..seriously!!. I had to send all my trade certificates and proof of qualifications and the list of skills as mention which was 3 pages long!!!.. Let me know if i can be of any help..and good luck. Steph
  18. Sorry, Had to share this as im soo excited. Its taken 6 months to have my Butcher skills assessed by the ACT Government, finally feel we can move on now and it feels more real than ever. Just need to pass my IELTS this time!! Sorry to shout this out, but just really happy were now one step closer to getting where we want to be Steph

  20. Hi, thanks for the support, think i am just being a little dramatic!!!. Will persever...wanted this for so long, not going to give up now!! Just cant believe i have to take an English test!!!!!

  22. Had to take the English test to get state sponsorship.... Just got my test results, needed 7's in all four catergories...scored 6.5 in reading, sailed through the rest and got an avergage of 7 Cant get another test date now, so it looks like we will have to go through the new process in July and we now feel its never going to happen....really upset by it...think the dream could be over Steph :sad:
