    Reality....

you dont have to be that smart to be an engineer, just have the ability to stick with the training. i left school with mediocre grades, but i was constantly in training from when i started working. it took 9 years of studying in my own time while working full time. it was just dedication and having a goal. the only brains you need is to identify where the employment is. its no use going to train as a hairdresser or animal carer if theres no jobs at the end if it. (just examples, keep your hair on!!). and before anyone says it, yes anyone can do it, its just takes some organising and thought. its been done before by people in a whole lot worse situation than mine, and yes i can name them. what would you rather? engineer on 50K+ and not like it or be on benefits?

job near me. 8 Engineers required. prefere Licence with S92 type rating but not essential. starting salary, £35,000 mechanics, £51,000 licenced No of applicants 3 moral of the story. if you want a job get off your backside and do some training and theres plenty out there.
  4. could still be A380. you can choose which flight you want from the BA site and choose the codeshare flight operated by Qantas with A380.
  5. I flew QANTAS A380 out of heathrow all the way to sydney, but for Perth you can only get the A380 to Singapore/Hong Kong, and transfer to prob an A330 to Perth. Flight numbers QF2, QF10 are A380 flights. make sure you check when choosing your flights as you could end up on a BA flight and you wouldnt want that!!! (according to their website QF10 goes via Dubai to Melbourne on some days. not sure if thats a mistake, everthing else points to SIN). But if you want an A380, Qantas, Singapore, Malaysian, Korean, Emirates and Thai, China Southern, Airfrance and Lufthansa fly them. prob all between here and Aus somehow. the A380 is fantastic for room on pretty much all airlines. they are certified for 850 passengers, but none carry any more than about 550 tops. and as far as snacks and drinks are concerned, if they dont come round that often or are not willing to give out what you need when you want it then you have got a pretty poor cabin attendant, and would complain to the Purser!!!
  6. well maybe the Mods will just delete the whole thing then if its not really what is required of a thread on this site.
  7. i have a visa, and they are not agents. but to say that theres loads of jobs and the cost of living is lower than the UK is very much misleading, as everyone on here knows, its not that simple is it? the rest i dont have an issue with. i just think its a bad way to hook people in. my appolgies for bringing it to peoples attention, i thought thats what this site was about?
  8. Would anyone else agree that this email i was sent from the supposed "worlds most popular immigration advice site" was somewhat misleading and could be one of the causes for people being so under or completly ill informed of the real facts of emmigrating and life in australia.
  9. i think there should be clarification on the word Commute. as fas as im concerned its from you accomodation, be it home or otherwise, to your place of work. then back after your days work. flying out to hong kong or london etc to work is not technically a commute!
  10. i drive 1h20 to and from work and do 12h shifts, so min 15 hour day, coming home on early shift on a friday, it takes 2h30 due to traffic and the idiots who keep apealing the Western peripheral route. if im working on the Coastguard aircraft it depends which hotel im in!!!
