I'm looking at the requirements for a 887 and have a couple of questions.

 

1) does the main applicant have to work in the field of work the visa was granted for or any type of work?

2) does the 2nd applicant have to work in rural au as well?

 

All it appears to ask for is for the main applicant to work for 12mths in designated area and only asks for the 2nd applicants id and proof of where they've lived for 2yrs?

But you paid a deposit based on that quote and signed a contract based on that quote, so surely they either honour the quote or give you a full refund? How much was the original quote?

I have a friend that wanted to visit australia he had a caution for possession 5yrs ago but nothing came of it, he's not been in trouble since and has a respectable job that requires regular drug testing, does he have any hope of visiting oz for a holiday?

Are 489 visa holders (main holder) allowed to work on a casual contract in their sponsored field? And if so does it coubt towards their visa requirements for a PR visa?

The points are irrelivant and only come in to play when you apply for state sponsorship.

Here's a tip:

If you have your skills assessment done with the ANMC they will pass on your paperwork to the state you want to register with. There is no cost to you and it saves you having to duplicate documents. You then need only fill out the registrations form and send your money.
