Thanks, hopefully you'll hear soon too. Really does depend on our local councils then.
I tried to change the test date but nothing sooner was available. Husband and I have same date but 1 1/2 hours apart, not very helpful.

Online application sent on 11 Sep. Received notification email immediately, but nothing since then. No email for test or interview appointment. 11 days have passed.
I applied on 9 July and also received notification email immediately. I heard nothing else until 21 Sept when I received the email with my test and interview date for 9th Nov.
I think it depends on the council you live in, I'm on the Sunshine Coast, not much happens quickly here!

Hi Leanie
We applied 9th July so not at the 80 days just yet. Suppose I'll give it another month and then will call them. I waited long enough for my PR so what's a few more months waiting?
-
Anyone applied through Sunshine Coast Council?
I applied 2 months ago and have heard nothing apart from the confirmation email I received as soon as I applied online.
-
hi guys,
is it worth calling up and asking even if you have an agent? just got a feeling im going to be told its in the que.
immi asked for more info 28th July but still nothing. maybe im just being a bit impatient.
am in a bit of a pickle as our lease runs out in 6 weeks time and we would really like to buy a house, really don't want to sign another 6 months on our rental
Just ask your agent if you can go on a periodic lease, that's what we did when in the same situation as you. If they agree you only need to give 2 weeks notice to leave.

You won't be entitled to any concessions unless you are a PR when you sign the contract. We went through this last year and the seller agreed to not dating the contracts until we received our PR.
Although you say your nomination is about to go through and you expect your visa 28 days after, this is not a given and there is no way of knowing how long you have to wait for your PR or even if it will be granted.

Thanks for that I suppose I'm used to being able to pick up relatively cheap school uniforms or parts there of from the like of Dunes or Primark.
Good point about the pantry and cutlery and things, ideally minimising the time from arrival of us and our container is what we can do
Don't rely on picking up cheap school uniforms, where I live in QLD all schools have branded uniforms that can only be bought in designated shops. These are by no means cheap e.g a school dress at our school is $50, Polo shirts about $25-30, shorts $20-25, school bag $50 and depending on the school there may be a formal uniform and a sports uniform.

Thanks god
visa has been granted today by NSW PESE without any request info...
Pray to god those who are waiting for long time ...please God help them
thank you guys one more time
Congratulations Jay, you really deserve it after such a long time!

Hi Guys I posted this last week but have had no response so I'll try again. I'm just confused with nominations and applications and would appreciate any advice; I’m new to the forum having discovered it in recent days. I work for a global insurer who have used their MA to lodge my 186 Application. I am a bit confused as some of the threads I have read are showing “nomination date” and “visa application date”. I have never received any details regarding a nomination date. I can only assume this is because the company I work for have used this process before and therefore the nominations are not an issue? Is this correct?? Anyway the visa was lodged 23rd February, I have added to the spreadsheet and look forward to any advice the people on here could provide!
Cheers,
You can not lodge a visa application without a nomination being lodged beforehand. Some people lodge the nomination and then immediately lodge the application after hence the Nom & visa having same lodgement dates.
Your MA will be able to confirm the date your nomination was lodged but it's not really necessary for you to know. Best to just forget about the whole process for a good few months before it consumes your whole life.
Good luck!

Maybe message one of the agents that contribute to this forum?
I'm not sure if it is your responsibility to inform DIBP or your previous employers.

Hi all, Just got call from MA that my PR is approved! 6.5 months waiting finally came to close. Phew! I'd say people in WA center are angels. Thank you all for your support and help along the way!
Congratulations!

GOOD NEWS!!
Visa approved today from the Perth Office. Beers o'clock this evening!!
See signature for timeline.
Congratulations OzDad, Perth had a good week eventually!
-
do you have their contact number, i called on 8861 435, but no response..
Not enough digits in that phone number?
-
Is it fine to call immi team?
I'd been waiting 11 1/2 months and they were very understanding each time I called.
You will speak to an admin team member and they will only say your application is being processed so unless you have a direct number I wouldn't bother with the 13 number and the hour or so wait to be honest.
You've only been in the visa queue for a month, might just need to sit tight for a while.
-
Wahey!! Fantastic news Websie. It's been a long time coming!! Congratulations.
Thanks OzDad, hope yours is next.
After speaking with my CO yesterday I asked my MA to call up today and speak with her too. 20 minutes later she called to say visa was granted.
Just signed contracts a block of land today too, big day for my family.

Awaiting for reply!
It's 28 calendar days but that is just a guideline, from experience it can take longer.
-
Possibly, neither any one completed 4 months from lodging the nomination nor 28 days completed from the date requested extra docs.....

If only the department worked like that we would all be happy people!!
