  1. Good to see the grants still coming in congratulations to everyone. I was from the part 1 of this thread and have been in aus for nearly 3 months now, hang in their everyone it is worth the wait.

Good luck and keep that waiting room tidy.

  2. Hello All,

Thought I would poke my nose in and say hello and tell you all what we have been up to since we got our visa.

I got offered a job a week ago and I start the middle of February. We leave the U.K on 8th on the one way flights. We have booked arrival accommodation at a holiday village on the gold coast, so from their we will find a rental and start our new lives down under. sorting everything out is quite stressfull and seems to take over your mind so be perpaired for some more sleepless nights.

It all works out in the end.

  3. Hi Tania,

If no one else wants to do it, I dont mind keeping the thread and spreadsheet updated.

    Well done Bpremji,

This thread is a life line for so many Tania started a fab thing here and it has been kept up to date brilliantly.

I know you will do an excellent job in keeping the thread running. I am glad that someone has taken it over.

I didn’t cos I’ve got my visa and will soon be moving as well.

Maybe we could do a cat 4 the sequel or cat 4 where are you now. Just so those that have visas and are moving can discuss and let people know how you’re getting on. We could keep it on the cat 4 thread but there is nothing worse than Yerr lets meet up for a bbq on the beach under the scorching sun, when you are sat in the front window of your house franticly checking the visa application while watching the rain batter the for sale board.

    Just a thought.

  4. how did the phone interview go Anlopa? Good i hope!

It went well. I hope!!!! :notworthy:A few things I will say is if you go for an interview or have an interview make sure you know your C.V inside out and any of the abbrev's that you use ensure you remember what they mean.:GEEK: In the interview they didn't question my mechanical ability:wacko: it was all about behavioural questions:wub: - examples if when you have experienced a situation. Think STAR - situation, task, action, result. Write down and rehearse situations as that formed the whole of the interview. :chatterbox:

Before the interview I checked my emails and another company who I have been in contact with had sent me an email asking if I was still interested in an interview. So fingers crossed I might just have a job to go to:wubclub:. The only thing that could be better is to sell the house. Anyone want a house.:jiggy:

  5. Update from me, we have got a buyer!!! for our house I'm just in the process now of going through the deal so more stress over the next 6 weeks or so.

I wanted to know if anyone wanted to take over this thread as in the next couple of weeks I think things will start to get busy for, I will make sure who ever would like to take over get access some how to the front page, please let me know if you are interested.

    Tania

    Congratulations Tania,

And thank you. You have done a fantastic job and brought a lot of friends together. I hope that I stay friends with everyone that I have met on this thread.

I hope that someone comes along soon and takes over as this thread has been a life line for a lot of us.

Good luck Tania and thank you :wubclub:

  6. Can anyone let me know what seems to be the standard waiting time between having given all the requested information and obtaining the grant letter??

We were allocated our CO on 19 Oct and they requested the Form 80, PCC and some extra employment info whihc we uploaded on the 9 Nov (we have already uploaded our medicals in May). I thought by this stage we would have gotten the grant email:confused: and keep getting worried that there must be some problem - otherwise why the delay. Aaagh!! Hate all this waiting!!!!!:arghh:

The wait is horrid, I waited 9 weeks from meds being finalised so co's put a review date on the file if you don't have an agent, call diac and say everything has been uploaded might just nudge your co in the right direction.

  7. Hi Guys,

I was allocated a CO today... Happy and worried ..mixed feelings...All the documents show as met except specific work experience . The CO has asked for additional employment documents/evidence. I have submitted all that I had, What else do you think I should provide.... My work experience shows as met...I am a little worried about the specific work experience part...Any suggestions ??

I had to submit payslips, p60's, contract, letter of employment, submit anything you have with your name on that is on company headed paper. If you have a H.R department ask if you can photocopy your file. If you need a reason just say you are re-mortgaging and the mortgage company has asked for these details.

  8. I am bored too, so my Husband came home from work with a headache and a miserable face:sad: and I said whats up quote I am fed up with this job!! you will know what he means anlopa working in the same type of industry, so I said wtf why don't we just take a loss and go I am fed up of waiting waiting waiting  so of course after me nagging for a while and him putting his thinking cap on he finally said yes!!! so I am trying not to get too excited as I need to get in touch with my agent and hope his offer is still on the table, I will be back hopefully later with the good or bad news.

My Christmas shopping is done all wrapped up my kids have been choosing summer clothes for Christmas presents they are at an age to understand that we have to be sensible and not buy big items, my oldest is 19 this Sunday, I am not really that busy at the moment but if this guy says yes then I soon will be.

    Tania,

Take the offer,if you listen to the news we are set to go in to a second recession so things arn't gonna get any better than they are now. it's not what you want I know but if it gets you their what does it matter. If you look on Seek Mark aint gonna find it hard to get a job. Just follow your heart.

I sat up waiting for me 2nd interview last night and guess what it never happened I was very angry. So I went on email to ask Y. Lack of punctuality infuriates me. So I found the email that I was sent hit the reply button and as the text from the original email popped on the screen. “we are pleased to offer you an interview this will take place on the 20th of December, please contact us with the times that you would be available”................................................................................................................................... Silly Billy. I said to myself.

Opps Lucky I didn’t hit the send button. I’m now beginning to think that the waiting room has affected me. I never used to be like this I’m a stickler for detail. Oh well means I got a bit more time for the medication to kick in.

  9. i know exactly how you feel as i am feeling the same, took the words out of my mouth :chatterbox: BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! House...car...waiting to go.

Same here about only small presents this year so we don't have to ship even more toys over, but hubby went and bought daughter a new bike  so that's one more thing to sterilize to get through customs along side hubby's other 4!!! bikes :happy_face_cowboy_w

Lol just to make you feel a bit better unless your taking a full container then we have been quoted £150 for the first bike and £75 for each after that. So we are only taking 2 now ans not 4.

  10. I want to book flights, and shipping, and sell my car, and my house, and say good bye. Bored now:ssign2:What is all this waitin about it's pants. I got my visa and I wanna go.

But we have some new smilies.

Lol on a random note we was only getting the kids small things for christmas this year, things that would fit in a suitcase, so why has a box turned up that is half the size of a snooker table. :goofy:

Still bored, even the washing up is done. larr larr larr.

  11. Never thought I would ever say I like tapatalk, but listen to us all if we can't get used to the changes of a forum how will we cope in a new country. I say embrace the changes and from here on in I'm going to positively embrace them and enjoy the lack of familiarity of them. It is like a new start and we will get out of it what we put in. (yarr)

  12. So i had a surprise phone call today from the 'Wanted Down Under crew' :swoon: I replied to the advert on PIO thread last week. Was caught on the hop so think i :chatterbox: rambled on a bit:rolleyes:, she was very nice though and has asked if she could also interview OH!! He's going to ring her when he get's in from work:laugh: if we pass this stage, it's a filmed face to face interview:eek:

Would be great to get a trial run before we go for good, think it would put our minds at rest a bit. I am quite excited i must say :jiggy: fingers crossed they don't think i'm :goofy::dull::witch-mad:

    Thats fantastic news,:jiggy:Validation trip sorted.

if you get on you have to make some random comments that would mean something to us watchers,

  13. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Hahahaha

Should really say something to mark this special 4000 post.

    What could I say?

    Hmmmmm

    Ah I know.

    Im moving to Australia :jiggy::jiggy::jiggy:

Sorry to put a dampener on the 4000 post celebrations:shocked: but technically Traxfm has got the award as #00001 is the thread hence #00002 is the first post so #04001 is the 4000 post.:GEEK:

Not trying to be pedantic, finicky or hair splitting. You know me I never procrastinate about absolutely nothing. Sorry slipped in to interview mode their.:goofy:

:wubclub:Happy 4000 post to all :wubclub::jiggy::notworthy: My cyber Family & Friends.

  14. Well this gibbering jelly head:goofy: must have made a good impression during my first interview as I have been put forward for a 2nd on Tuesday with the “Big boss” :GEEK:so I have a dilemma now do i maintain the jelly head style that I turned the first interview in to or do I try a composed and organised approach for the second :wideeyed: Oh no. The email said that the interview will last for approx 1 hour oh boy :wub:at least I can have a load of post it notes and the laptop to hand to answer any awkward questions.:swoon: I’m not complaining though. A job would be fantastic. :jiggy::notworthy::hug:

  15. So I'm out of one waiting room straight into another (house selling) oh joy, although hopefully I wont be in it for long as we have sold but are waiting on a few things from the buyers end, touch wood (and I just did) there are no hiccups. Still don't think it's sunk in we actually have our visas granted, my parents got really upset but they know it's for the best.

Oh yeah, reason I came on.... Once out of visa waiting room & out of house selling waiting room, does that take us to the departure lounge? ;)

Lol the departure lounge. I've just done a telephone interview omg what a plonker. Proper jelly head. I had the email last week and was expecting a call this week some time, but as I'm on days I thought I would get in bed, ring ring we only have one phone now and that is in the lounge so mad dash to pick it up. Huffing and puffing I answered like a giggling school kid. Lucky I printed a cv off. I so hope she has not taped the call as I was well flustered. Oh well what will be will be.
