This can depend on which state you have applied to and how much work experience you have included.

  2. Hello, wondered if I could pick your brain on visa invites please.

We have our EOI for 189 QLD on 70 points (3mth, no invite), we are considering a 190 NSW on 75 points as we'd prefer an invite by July, Hubby also turns 40 in Aug so points will go down!

My question is : will 190 cancel our 189? If we get an invite on 190, will 189 still be active and possibly give us an invite?

Ive also heard mixed reviews over 190 2yr stay. It holds no visa conditions ive been told....? We don't want to break the rules going so far from home to be made to leave, is that what could happen if we lived in another state?

Thanks for any help/advice you can offer

      Hi Anna,

I don't always get a chance to check the forums. Please give me a call on 0131 625 6900 or drop me an email at Richard@my-oe.com and we can have a chat about your options in more detail.

      Regards,

  3. Hi Richard,

I have applied for subclass 489 under the overseas category. My points are 75 including state points. I have been waiting for 6 weeks and haven't heard anything!!

My skill is restaurant manager, the skill is on there requirement website however I m getting to concern that whether this will ever happen?

Do you know if people actually getting 489 visa? How long should i wait..

I Do they actually give 489 visa to the restaurant manager background people?

It's variable, we've had some being picked up in a month, but it depends on the state. For example, with some Northern Territory apps, we've found they have been taking around 5 months at the moment.

  5. Hi

I understand that Aitsl wants 4 years of university level education, is it possible to apply with say a 3 year B.Ed, followed by a level 6 OTHM diploma ?

    Totally 4 years of education.

This may be alright as long as you can demonstrate that the Level 6 diploma is a university level qualification. It should have been taught and issued by a university level institution. It might be useful to get some kind of written confirmation of this from the university.

  6. Hi Richard we haven't signed up with anyone yet but wanted your opinion on whether or not we should  apply for a 189 skilled visa.  Basically been told that as long as hubby passes the English test we will be able to apply (gas fitter, 60 points).  Problem is he is 45 in February.  Had 2 agencies tell us differently - one says too late, other says is doable but tight.  We don't want to waste our time and money and get our 2 teenagers hopes up if there is little or no chance.  Please can you give us your opinion?  Many thanks.  Paula

      Hi there,

With 60 points I have to say this is very unlikely since no-one since July has been selected with 60 points.  There is a huge backlog of people already in the queue.

Other options?  Do you have close family in Australia as 489 Family could be doable if you get skills and English on time.

      Richard

  7. Hi Richard

My wife and I are 27 months down the line waiting for class 143. My wife will possibly need some medical investigation on something which has just emerged. We have not got a case adviser yet. There must inevitably be some contact soon asking for medical report etc and we were wondering what the procedure is when something crops up. We obviously don’t want to go to the food of the pile again. As far as I know I am free of any undiagnosed conditions at the moment.

    Any advice would be welcomed.

    Thanks

    Ian
