  1. Hey RivieraKid thanks for the update. This will probably be my downside - paperwork not the best - as anything over 5 years ago will have been thrown away (we didn't think we would be needing them!). My initial setup was via an Umbrella Company - but been Ltd for the past 5 - so will have all the Ltd company Statements in paper format - but not the Personal - these are all online! Will have a look at the paperwork tonight and see what I have that can be used to link the work experience to me financially....I would of presumed the references would of been sufficient! Did you provide many years worth of statements? Thats a lot of paperwork!!! cheers
  2. Hi all, We've been assigned a CO and she has requested additional information in relation to my Ltd companies (I work as a freelance). Initially I provided a Letter from my accountants - but this is not sufficient - as it doesn't link me to any of the companies I've worked for...neither will the HMRC documents?? Confused! So far I've given Work References from a mixture of Agencies or Direct from the company I worked for. I've also provided two Letters from Accountants to cover the 10 year period. I'm happy to provide HMRC documents - but need to know which ones! (I have asked). It also asks for Bank Statements. Would this be the Ltd company or Personal? thanks
  3. Great news! Glad it's arrived safely - and by the timing's I see - around the 6 weeks timeframe? We are looking at coming over in December - so we could send the van earlier - and have it there ready for when we land - then just a matter of the changes (Air con) and MOT :-) thanks for all the updates!
  4. thanks Lebourvellec. We have an appointment on Tuesday to update the passport - so will notify the CO of the 1023 form and upload the new documents. I was more worried that we would fall foul of having less than 6 months on the passport - but we didnt. We had 6 months and 6 days when the EOI was submitted. Panic Over. Thanks again
  5. this scenario gets worse... Whilst Ive been working away trying to earn as much as I can to go over to Oz - the wife was left with one Job - update passport. She got the new Pictures, She did the form - but didnt do the rest...I only found out this morning. To say I was Mr. Angry this morning was an understatement. Angry probably with myself that I didnt check she had received a new passport... We got confirmation that we have a Case Officer today (which is good news - but the passport saga has made me feel sick to the core) When we applied (EOI) 31st Jan - we did have over 6 months on her passport (only by days...6th Aug 2013). CO assigned today - has asked for additional work experience information - which I can submit no problem - so will upload them now. Do I say anything about the passport? Ive made an emergency appointment for Tuesday for the new passport to be processed and handed over. Im scared of being liable to have answered a question incorrectly and having this applicaton withdrawn. In my mind - I think we are ok - as we did in Jan 31st have over 6 months (just) on her passport. So I have not answered any questions incorrectly. Lesson Learned here - do it yourself. So annoyed. Hopefully this is not an issue - should we tell the CO that a new Passport is being processed and will be ready on 26/27th March? And then upload the new passport?
  6. Does this mean that If I have already been accepted to apply via EOI (eg. Waiting for a Case Officer) - Im "one" of the one's within the Celeing Pre-July?
  7. sorry to hear this. Keep positive and apply again. on my 2nd EOI they had obviously made changes to the wording of certain questions - which will help you with your answers. im just waiting for my CO now... Good luck and don't give up!
  8. Hi - going down the 189 route - and just waiting for CO to be assigned.
  9. Wow thats a big jump - will look into depreciation in oz! But with the figures it's a no brainier! Even if we spend 5k on transport and air con and other changes - we still sell more than we could get in this country - plus the obvious we use it first! I don't know if we would want to caravan in OZ - it's not the same when its not raining :-)
  10. Thanks for the tip. How long have you been looking? Is there too many PMs after the same roles? Have you received any feedback from anyone?
  11. thanks all...I work in the IT Industry....(I can hear the groans..)
  12. Hi Been looking at this sector online and it doesn't look like a busy area in terms of PM jobs. does the recruitment industry work the same in Oz - eg. Many positions aren't even advertised... any PMs moved or looking to move to Brisbane? Any experience to share? Looking at moving out in Nov/ Dec and realise it will be difficult to get a position at this time of hear - but this is the best time for us to travel/get settled and ready for the new school term....I see that people have commented that jobs are non existent during this period - is this a myth?
  13. just read this again! Didn't realise it was 30k sterling that you quoted for a similar type van in OZ...that makes the decision a no brainer! If we sell in the UK we wont get anywhere near that type of money...think I'll send an email to the Caravan dealers in OZ to see what they say...it then makes the decision so much easier.
  14. Hi we have been watching the latest Wanted Down Under series and although you know what the format will be - we still seem to have a different emotion after each one.... it got me thinking that our approach may not be good as we first thought - eg. We were just going for it...we are not selling up because of the market here - savings only...the savings aren't a bottomless pit - hence the Go for it attitude (we have friends over in Perth/Canberra so we do get regular updates of how brilliant their lives are now.....) Fellow forum posts have shown me that many people go through the highs and low pre migration - so maybe this is one of them moments...so....wanted to know if anyone else decided to do their own mini reccie to reconfirm that they are doing the right thing - can you actually do it in a week (would you?) so much information readily available on the Internet (schools, houses, work, What's On type websites, online shopping for cost of living, fuel cost available online, cars etc) Interested to know if people did their own reccie - and what did they learn that was different to the information from the net. did it change your mind or make you excited that you are doing the best thing Did you think the reccie was worth it?
  15. Am I right in thinking that a swift challenger 570 sells for approx $40-45k ? Mine is a 2011 model - spotless. (not selling!) - I want to make sure A) it's worth the import cost - eg. Not going to loose money B) are European models capable of touring in oz? (some of the oz caravans seem to have a lot of clearance space underneath) Dilema is whether we sell in this country and buy an OZ one
  16. Thanks all In the end I send an email to level 2 in Adelaide and they confirmed that my new EOI had already been linked to mine and my sons Health results but my wife's hadn't. Was advised to wait until a CO had been assigned and they would sort.. So as long as I have one assigned in the next 10 months I should be ok
  17. Hi all Just had a quick look on the forum and cant find the answer - so hope someone can point me in the right direction. We had our Health Checks before Christmas - and unfortunately there was a problem with my first app - so had to withdraw... Ive since gone through the process again and have been gone thru EOI and now need to upload my documents again. It's occured to me that our Health Checks were made as part of the previous application - how do we get these records attached to this application? thanks
  18. Excellent! How long will the RORO take? Guess from Southampton - which port? this could work out really well if the figures all add up. an option we didnt think was viable. :-)
  19. Interesting! Glad someone else thinking about doing the same! We are heading to Brisbane - but not 100% sure of areas - so thought the van would allow us time to have a proper look at a few areas we have researched (Internet) - we are looking at going over in The last few weeks of Nov - so this means our son has his summer holiday during Dec/Jan to coincide with the move - so we have approx 8 weeks to find an area/school/house/work :-) We are even thinking that we can put some clothes in the van aswell! (If allowed) just starting to look at options now - but the figures still stack in our favour as the vans do seem to be worth more in OZ! (Not seen much proof of this yet though) Not looked at camp sites yet so need to be 100% sure of security etc.
  20. We are looking at this now - we have a Swift Challenger 570 (2011 model) and were going to sell before going over (it doesn't have air con at the moment)...but I hear "rumours" that the re-sale in OZ is much higher..we were "toying" with the idea of sending it over "earlier" than us and actually using it as our temporary home for the first few weeks until we settle on final area and getting a rental/buying...any idea on approximate costs for shipping? Anything else to look out for - has anyone else actually done this as a temporary accommodation option? Good to hear thoughts...if the numbers work - then it may be an option
  21. thanks everyone - interesting to know how other's have coped. I was hoping to work as much as I could In the uk to save as much as I could to get me over Dec/Jan - this can be our time together as a family and give us the time to adapt...and also make sure we get the right school...i know the job market is going to be slower - but my son in a decent school and us settled in the right area is crucial..
  22. As far as I remember all information in relation to references was in the link I sent you. Download all the forms and complete the information and look for gaps - eg. if you worked in a company for 5 years - make sure you have Proof that you worked there for 5 years. References are one thing - but you can upload anything that you may think will help you prove you are what you say you are - eg. If you are a COBOL Programmer - make sure you can prove you have completed this role.
  23. I passed the ACS assessment after 2nd attempt (1st attempt didn't take into account some of the Work Experience references I submitted) - so it's worth getting these right. Will scan some of mine and send them to you. Send me a PM with your email and I'll send them to you. I didn't have to submit any pay sheet's
  24. If you are going down the ACS route - my issue was obtaining Reference letter's from part employers (I am Self Employed in the UK) and had to get a mixture of References (Agency's, 3rd Party Companies who were Outsourcing, The actual company) this took a lot longer as I was not "Employed" by the company so it was very hard and frustrating...start this process now...sit down and get all the details and start contacting past colleagues etc....again you may be lucky and have worked for only a few companies...I worked for many over the 10 years I had to prove and the ACS will only give you the relevant Work Experience if they are satisfied with the References (i had to get a few additional references and some Statutory Declarations) Start early - listen to the people here. Double check everything - I made a mistake on my EOI which has so far cost me about 4lb in stress...time etc...but the knowledge from fellow PIO forum members is invaluable.. good luck
  25. Hi bugskaran30 All the information you need is on this pdf: http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/7319/Skills-Assessment-Guidelines-for-Applicants-1-July-2012-V1.pdf Make sure you are certain the ANZCO Code you think you are under is covered in your work experience Are you going down the RPL route? All documents need to be Certified. You will need all your work experience references in a particular format (they want to know your role, what you did, what you were paid, was it full time)...this was a lengthy process for me as Im Self Employed. Good luck
