  1. Hey there I noticed you said you used a move cube and we are in the midst of packing those boxes and my plastic tubs now.  Can I ask u noticed you had alot of wool.  I'm a quilter and have at leat two plastic tubs of materials and one of bits and pieces I use to quilt.  Did you have to itemise all your wool in the one box.  If it was all different skeins,.  I keep thinking how all our clothes have to be itemised and think heck idninhave to do all my quilting pieces I shall go insane.  Let me know how you went with wool situation.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks Angela I did see your picture and they are really stressing itemising things including hubby's tool box 700 pieces as well as clothes as we are not sure if we will insure yet so that for those things but as you say for material just a general box and I have all other quilting items in another  itemise that. Thanks for the heads up on what you did great idea on the weight.  Onwards and upwards in filling our boxes much appreciate the response xx

My husband didn't itemise his tools - just said tools I think. Ditto with your quilting tools, I'd just say quilting tools. When we looked at the insurance form it did seem to require more info. For us it seemed like a reasonable risk to take but I think if you needed tools for work then it would make more sense to insure.  There is a weight limit on the cube so we were able to keep a running total of the weight and thought we were coming close. The other benefit of putting weight on the boxes is when you are packing the cube because there were some that were too heavy for me to try and lift but DH could manage them.  We taped out a corner of the dining room to the cube dimensions so we could see how much space we were taking, however, we had much more space left over than we thought. Just make sure everything is squeaky clean - not a molecule of dirt on garden tools or shoes and the vacuum cleaner has been washed etc.  The only thing that broke, astonishingly, was the mudguard strut on my husband's bike!

Yes great idea about the weight.. They send the plastic sheets with the different cube sizes so re marking out we popped the large cube sheet down and are doing as you suggested.  I think I'll get home to help me weigh on weekend the only heavy items we have will be all my teaching school books and such things... Yes I have been cleaning as I go and we are not using old boxes to prevent any excess dirt excetera.  I have tones of. Plastic tubs that I cleaned out so decided to use them alot too and vaccume seal precious stuff. Last job really is my bleach clean of shoes and a very small amount of kitchen items more ceramics as we will throw all pots pans and cutlery.  I'm having a much needed clear out!!

      Thanks again
