  1. Thanks very much for the insight. My husband would prefer where you say you live. Where abouts are you? I'll bear in mind what you have said, it's really helped me, thank you.
  2. Hi Silas, where did you hear this from?
  3. Hi all I'm just wondering what everyone's status's are for their 489 State visa timelines. If you have lodged and waiting, can you let me know? We have been waiting since 10th August 2017, so it's been 6.5 months. We're hoping it'll be this side of 6-8 months than the 8 months. We have lots to sort out this side of the world Looking forward to all your responses.......
  4. Hi there Can anyone give me an honest opinion on trying to get a rental property in South Australia with a dog? She is a Vizsla, so a larger breed. I have looked on the rental websites and it seems pretty fine, but I don't want to get there to find it a nightmare. Thanks
  5. Hi guys This sounds like a silly question, but we have applied for a 489 State sponsored visa last August and currently waiting on a reply. We have been talking and wondering about what suburbs in South Australia are good for families with a dog. It might sound stupid, but we have only visited Perth before, so we don't know what to expect. Is anyone able to shed some light on good schools (primary), beaches, parks and generally nice places to live that are not too busy. Maybe at least 15 mins drive from the centre of Adelaide. I know it may seem like a vague question, but any advice will be looked into. Thanks
  6. Thank you Iron Chef. In regards to the other Abarth, and the one car each policy, would we be able to strip the car down into pieces and ship the shell and the rest as bits? Or is there a way to ship the 2nd car by paying a larger fee of some kind? Thanks for being there to answer what you have answered time and time again Sarah

  8. Hi Iron Chef Hope you can help us decide We have 3 cars. The 1st car is a 2009 modified Fiat ABARTH which is more a track car but is completely road worthy. I'm not going to put all the spec down, since I don't think this will make much difference. It's more worth it because of the work done rather than the spec of the car. The 2nd is another Fiat Abarth 595. It's a 2014 reg with good spec as its newer. It has around 20,000 miles with no modifications. The 3rd is a Citroen DS3, 2014 with hi spec like leather seats and parking sensors etc. It also has around 25,000 miles. It has been lowered and the colour has been changed. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Sarah
  9. Hiya, what does your OH do for a living? Thanks Sarah
  10. Thanks everybody for your input
  11. Thanks Levi Really appreciate your reply. Love seeing everyone's timeline status. Many thanks Sarah
  12. Hi everyone Can anyone help with two questions? 1) If our cousin in Perth is sponsoring us on the 489 visa, will they need to sign a AoS (Assurance of Support)? 2) How long upon lodging an application may it take to get the visa granted or not? Many thanks in advance Sarah
  13. Oh my word. How very helpful you have been. Thanks for the info and the links. So appreciated. I would sell the car, but hubby wants to keep it as he has spent time getting it just how he wants it and runs beautifully. It may mean he either comes to terms with parting from it or we spend/waste money on bringing it!! Thanks again Sarah
  14. My husband has a FIAT 500 ABARTH. Cost around £13,000 in the UK for a 2-3 year old still so they are quite expensive. I'm worried these cars are too new, so it would cost a bomb to keep. The only possibility it won't is the fact it is the same as a Fiat 500 - just a better one:biggrin: It is a 2009 Air con 70,000 miles $35,000 (redbook.com.au didn't have many to compare to. Think they were NEW prices) Looking forward to your reply! Sarah
  15. Hi everyone Just wondering what migration agent to use. Have been in touch with Visa Bureau, heard of migration bureau, but there are also more local agents in the south of England (advertised in the Australia magazine).....how do we choose? We would be looking for a Skilled (Permanent preferred, not temp) visa. Many thanks Sarah
  16. Hi Nic1171 Its Sarah! I have access to the internet at lunch times while at work and when I'm searching for information on the web about Australia, I don't want them to see what I am searching for, in my name. Probably being too paranoid. I asked a couple of the same questions to someone else and signed of as another name, but when I copied and pasted it on here I didn't realise I had the wrong name!! Thanks for asking.........lots of people will probably see the same and think its odd, or rather, see the long list of questions and and then move on :chatterbox: Sarah
  17. Hi everyone. My husband and I and now our 2 year old daughter have been looking into moving to Australia for years. Probably in the same boat as most people. I am looking in to what Visa would be best for us and which one of us would most likely be successful. I am an Office Manager and could well come under the Customer Sevices Manager on the CSOL list. For my skills, I have also looked at the CSOL list you sent to see if there is another description for my job. Our company has only 10 people at Head Office, which is where I am and me everyday role includes: - Purchasing the entire stock that we supply, which is around $150,000 worth each week - Team Leading the Customer Services pod who get the phone calls and orders all day long - Dealing with any IT issues that arrise - Health & Safety (not nice) - Working closely with the MD - General Office Management and helping the whole office with IT software & hardware issues. Any IT issues that I cannot deal with I then pass it onto our outside IT company. I purchase the new PC's, software and hardware. Is there much call for a Customer Services Manager/Office Manager in the Perth area? I would prefer to apply on my job as I would more than likely pass the IELTS. My husband, has been looking after our daughter who is now 2. He has been the stay at home dad. He was a Self Employed Full Time 'Home Improver' since around 2000. This has involved many things including, kitchen/bathroom fitting, tiling, external work as well as a lot of painting and decorating. Would he be able to apply under the Schedule 1 - Painting Trades Workers - 332211? Before he became a Self Employed Builder/decorater, he was a Car sprayer. I know its also on the list under Vehicle painter - 324311 but I also understand it is too long ago. Even though he said he could go back to it. I am worried that because he has been at home for the last 18 months only doing the odd job while I have been on annual leave, will he still be able to apply in his trade? I am 34 and my husband is 37. Any advice is so very much appreciated Thank you Sarah
