Danny842003
So as some of you know I am applying for a 300 visa. I called the embassy to check how to pay and they said a bankers cheque of over £2200, £2225 I think but I didn't write the figure down at the time. I instantly thought that was very high and opted to pay by credit card. Well with the extra fee the embassy charge for using the card and the fee from the bank for a foreign transaction it came to £1765 which is a saving well worth having I'm sure everyone will agree. Im just sharing this as I remember people worrying about the extra 1.5% charge in previous threads. That 1.5% charge is a very worthwhile investment. MARYROSE02
I used my Visa Debit UK card to pay for an operation - 3,000 GBP, and the FX charge was over 80 quid. I think I should have transferred the money to my Aussie account, which would have incurred lower charges?
