dancingdevil
Long shot I know, but I'm wondering if there will be any pubs/bars showing the England vs Italy game Sunday morning at 8.00am. Tried having a bit of a look round google and stuff and can't find anything!!! I hate being here when the World Cup is on!!!!!!!
Skani
Village Cinemas are showing it on the big screen. The Hobart one is in Collins Street. http://villagecinemas.com.au/events/fifa-world-cup The Football Federation of Tas. will probably know of other places. http://www.footballfedtas.com.au/ I'm sure the Italian Club in North Hobart will be showing it too. There's a bit of info here: http://www.themercury.com.au/sport/soccer-crazy-heres-how-to-get-your-world-cup-kicks/story-fnj4f7i7-1226952459079
crispysince70
Was just saying at work today that it's a bit different from the uk, where every man and his dog has a bit of a patriotic moment when the world cup is on, wheras here, not even an aussie flag in sight, and on doing an interrogation with my customers today, nobody seems even interested in watching it! chris x

Skani
Thanks all for the suggestions. Just looking for somewhere where maybe a few of us congregate and get a bit of an English atmosphere going...... Just noticed on the website of the Dr. Syntax Hotel (Sandy Bay) it says WORLD CUP SOCCER . . . We'll be open at all the unfriendly hours so that you can cheer on your team! and they normally open for breakfast at 8 am at the weekend. http://www.doctorsyntax.com.au/
dancingdevil
Thank you all for your responses! Unfortunately it appeared to be somewhat of a lost cause so I celebrated the typical English way by buying 8 cans of Stella and being drunk by 10am!!! Now........If I can find the Uruguay game I'll be laughing!!!!!
