  1. Hey Mohammed, Before moving out here a few years back I was working for a company but paid through a sister company. So my company was RWE and I was being paid by TSG SALARY or something like that which made it look a bit weird on the payslip and bank statement reflecting back towards my position and company title. Don't remember this being a problem though. Maybe mention it in one of your documents somewhere if you think it may cause an issue like a statutory declaration. Cheers Grant
  2. Hi LindsG I'm pretty sure you have to sort your medical and police check out yourself, theres no correspondence until thats all completed. I thought I'd wait and then was instructed by others to book the medical and police check. It's a fairly simple process, police check took about a week and I uploaded the document. I booked a medical on the wednesday and had it next day, you have to contact the private hospital and book it yourself. However, I have done this process as an individual and haven't used a visa agent. Hope this helps Grant
  3. Hey Guys, Just had my VETASSESS electrical practical results back and I was successful so I'm now in the middle of submitting my EOI. There's a part on there which asks for my Reference number/receipt number...I have my VETASSESS number underneath my picture and I also have a different number next to what says Skills Assessment Identification No: Does anyone know which one to choose or has anybody been through the same process and knows? Help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Grant
  4. Hi, I have my Vetassess Electrical Practical on 8th Nov 14 at the College of North West London. Just wondering if anyone else here is going on the same date and how you're getting on with your revision etc. I have a couple of drawings and notes I'd be willing to share which I hope could help. Cheers Grant
  5. Hi, Has anyone recently completed the online application for Vetassess pathway 1? I'm just waiting to submit mine but would like some advice beforehand. There's a section on there which asks whether I am applying from inside or outside Australia, I'm fine with that, but underneath it asks "country of skills assessment"? I'm in the UK and did my training here, do I click UK, or Australia because that's where I want to go? Also, does anyone know the address to send supporting certified documents to? There's a couple of addresses on there but don't want to click the right one, I don't want to be going through this twice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Grant

    TRA Payment

Hi, I'm an electrician and looking to get my trade assessed through TRA. I went to pay for the assessment today and was unsure on which to pick! I understand it would be MIGRATION SKILLS ASSESSMENT but this is what it said underneath, is this still the one? "The TRA migration skills assessment (MSA) program is for applicants who require skills assessment and who are not applying for a subclass 485 or 457 visa; are not required to be assessed under TRA's offshore skills assessment program (OSAP); or do not wish to participate in the job ready program." I am applying for 189 skilled independent visa and electrician general, the bit that threw me was the offshore assessment part? Any ideas? Thanks Grant
  8. Ian, friend of Froggles here! I'm like yourself, I'm a time served electrical maintenance tech from an oil refinery now working at a power station with 4 years experience. I'm currently waiting on my HR references so I can send off my TRA and I'm going for electrician (general)! I have NC, HNC in power system engineering and nvq2&3! I have completed my ielts getting 8s so have enough points to go for the 189 subclass! Sounds to me that electrician (general) would be the one for you! Have you got everything you need for the TRA application (references, pay slips, p60s, qualification certs etc) they all need to be certified by a solicitor!
  9. Haven't applied just yet, sorting out my IELTs at the minute, need top marks because of my age and education.
  10. Hi, I'm a time served Electrical Maintenance Technician working at a Power Station and previously an Oil Refinery. I was wondering if there is anybody out there who could help me with which ANZSCO code this type of job would most be suitable for? I was thinking along the lines of Electrician General or Special Class but I'm not sure on whether they only cover Domestic Electricians because I'm not qualified in that field? Thanks
