  1. I was only able to press the 'request complete' button when immi asked for further documentation. I attached the document they requested & pressed 'request complete' so they were then aware I had done what they had asked. It wasn't highlighted before then but was obviously looked at and not after 28 days. I didn't do anything after my medical.
  2. Iv got my AHPRA reg and not got a visa so definitely not a condition to have one. I will be doing the modified assessment once im in Australia. I'm going on a 457 visa.
  3. Excellent! Well done you. Can I ask, how long did it take from you presenting in ahpra office to getting that all important registration? I'm really just thinking of maybe a 2 day stopover then home again. Is this timeframe too short?
  4. Was wondering if you got clarification with presenting in person on a visitor visa. My LOE expires on 26 July and was considering presenting in person with visitor visa in Melbourne if it can be done. If it cant, it will need to expire and I will need to start process again!! Really don't want to do that
  5. Thanks Stacey don't know about convinced, bulldozed is more like it, but made him think he was in control of the decision!!! God I'm good x
  6. Thanks for your response. That is what I thought and have in the last hour managed to persuade him to pick 2 subjects/courses and have applied to college for him. He's not enamored to say the least but my plan is 5 years in and I am just about holding it together and seeing the light at the end of a very long tunnel. Impatience of the youth....impatience of the ever so slightly older is whats needed too
  7. Just wondered if anyone knows where we would stand visa wise if my son goes on a WHV before I manage to secure sponsorship. Here's my situation. I qualified as a nurse last October and am trying to work up my experience to at least a year before I apply for any nursing jobs in oz. Also I know it could take some time before I get a job. Anyway my dilemma is, my son wants to go himself on a WHV when he turns 18 in July. We would be funding it & have family in 2 different areas so he would be going between them more than doing the "working" part of the WHV. Does anyone know if he can still be added as a dependent to my visa if/when I get one?? I was really encouraging him to stay at college but he didn't get into the course he wanted so now all my careful plans are falling apart!!
  8. I quite fancied Adelaide as it is that bit further over from Melbourne but still has changing seasons. I dont do really hot! But as my sister is in Melbourne the aim is for the families to be close. Yes she is happy in Melbourne. They are in a rental in Ringwood just now but hopefully moving over Berwick way or round about shortly. As you say though it does depend on where the job comes up!!
  9. Melbourne hopefully. My sister lives there so thats the plan. Just back from holiday, looking at areas to live etc. What about yourself?
  10. That sounds good but yes I suppose every job deal will be slightly different. I just need to have a few questions ready coz I hate that bit where they say "do you have any questions" and there is absolutely nothing in your head!
  11. Its been a Cathy on 2 emails so not sure if it will be her or not. Burning questions?? - as in sponsorship, how long contracts for? Im a but worried in case I dont ask the right questions!
  12. thanks for replying so quickly. that doesn't seem so bad then. just need to set my alarm!
