I have read the DIAC website and I think I just need someone to explain it in plain english for me please.... How long do OH need to be here in OZ before applying for PR and then how much longer before applying for Citizenship. Do we have to live here in oZ after a PR is granted for him to then be eligible for Citizenship and if yes then how long do we have to live here?? Sorry the questions but just want to be sure of our future plans. He has been here on 820 visa for about 14 months now (12 months before that on e-tourist visa) and his 821 will be applied for in January 2013 - and hopefully granted then. Just not sure when/if we can live in the UK in the very near future and then move between the two countries as we need/want to. Guest Guest31881 Posted March 12, 2012 Share Posted March 12, 2012 Not sure about applying for PR, I presume providing you meet the criteria for PR you can apply any time... Citizenship can be applied for once you have been in Australia for 4 years of which at least the last one is as PR.
