darren141 Posted February 22, 2012 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Hi there, I'm heading to Brisbane on a 1 year working holiday visa from Glasgow, Scotland I'm hoping to skip the hostel route and look in to renting a room close-ish to the CBD. I'm looking for somewhere for 3 months initially while I look for work, IT engineer already applying for jobs via agencies. I've been having a look on a couple site like easyroommate & gumtree but all the ads appear to have expired or look like complete scams (searching google for the advert text brings up completely different flats in other areas with the same ad text/seller). I know of a few peeps on here that have used gumtree and easyroommate with success, and others that have found their own accommodation, and they will be able to answer your questions.
