Lambethlad
Driving near Wilson's Promontory a couple of years ago I saw a creature that appeared to be a thylacine. My cousin who lives in central Victoriawas mending a fence on his property when he heard sound that made his hair stand on end. He looked over his shoulder to see a creature sitting on a tree stump just looking at him. He said it was about the size of a large mastiff dog but its head was huge, cat-like.and very frightening to look at. He screamed at it and it fled into the bush. What he described seemed to be a thylacoleo. The next day he spoke to a neighboring property owner who said he had also seen it and was glad someone else had seen it because his wife had laughed at him. He also said a sheep carcass had been found up in a tree on a nearby property. Only a large powerful animal could do that. Both the thylacine and the thylacoleo are believed to have become extinct a few thousand years ago on the mainland. The thylacine lasted until about 80 years ago in Tasmania. Recently a mate was cleaning fish one night at the Narooma Boat ramp when a strange growling sound made him turn around to see a large panther-like creature about 30m away. Has anyone else seen weird creatures in the Australian bush?
