desreb Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 I just thought I'd write a quick post on our own visa application, in case it helps inform anyone else. I know there are various spreadsheets & threads tracking progress and times, and never quite had the chance to get into them, so thought I'd just summarise here. Basically, we landed in Feb '11 on a student visa, and had a nominated company agency (Fragomen) doing the PR application for us. We were both UK citizens with no particular complications. Since we were applying for a 121, it meant we obviously had to be offshore for the grant, and also, they couldn't apply for a Decision Ready Checklist because we were onshore at the time of application. They did, however, choose Melbourne as the processing centre, which made for an decently quick turnaround in an otherwise slow process. Fragomen were painfully slow in the early stages, sometimes taking weeks to reply to us, and making several errors, but really sped up with a change of agent towards the end. This is the timeline of the last few stages: 18/06/11: VETASSESS submitted (IT Technical Sales role) 06/10/11: 121 Application submitted to Melbourne by Fragomen agency 02/11/11: Notification of DIAC approval of visa submission, and ready to grant 10/11/11: 121 Subclass Visa Granted on re-entry to country Cheers!
