Could someone tell me how long we have to wait between getting PR and going for Citizenship? We have heard all sorts of timescales quoted, and have been told that the rules have all changed.... blah, blah, blah. Anyone got a definite answer to this? realitynotincluded Posted January 13, 2012 Share Posted January 13, 2012 To get citzenship is 4 years... this starts the day you land in Australia not when you get your visa..... for example..... you come on a temporary 457 visa in January 1st 2008 and you move onto a pr visa in one or two years (depends on visa) you are able to come a citizen in 2012. as long as you dont leave the country for an extended amount of time (tells u on website for citizenship) only one year has to be on pr. We had the info that it was four years from obtaining PR, which would be a right bugger! September 2015! Thanks alot, again.....
