lauradarlin
Hi all Here's my latest plan... I intend to spend a year in Australia but would like to spend a few weeks travelling in India en route. The clothes etc I plan to bring for my year in Oz are very different to what I'll be needing in India so I'm investigating the possibility of sending my luggage over to Australia on it's own. I have a friend there who could collect it for me so ideally it would be there when I arrive from India. Is this a realistic thing to be able to do? And if so, does anyone have any ideas about how I'd go about looking into it? Thanks
CXW
Easy to do - get some quotations from shipping/excess baggage companies. Air freight is more expensive than by sea but faster. Don't forget to insure your belongings (Letton Percival are often cheaper than taking the insurance offered by the shipping company).
Guest stelstar
Hi, I have just started a new threat myself, maybe this is something I should look into. I am doing much the same as you, spending a month in Thailand and Cambodia and then I arrive in Sydney. Have you got any quotes yet?
lauradarlin
Thanks guys, Stelstar I had a look at your thread earlier, seems like a few things to consider and look into. Haven't got any quotes yet but I have a bit more time than you!
