BeckiNick
Im fed up that no one will give my partner a fair try...He is 30 holds a degree in Business Management and wants to become an Electrician he has wanted this since he was a teen but his parents didnt think it was right. He is very clever, great mathematically etc but has applied for so many apprenticeships and been turned down. They all suggest he needs to do the pre apprenticeship first...that in a perfect world would be great but with bills, the fact that Ive been studying and he has been supporting me has not been possible. Its annoying because he knows the basics which is all he would be taught at Tafe!! Is anyone out there who would be keen to take on a hardworking, mature apprentice
Guest The Pom Queen
If he knows the basics have you thought of him doing an RPL this would mean he would be assessed on what he already knows and may be able to come out of it with a qualification without doing any studying, once he has a qualification people may take more notice. The other option is for him to go back in to the Business Management side to get the money coming in but then study part time at TAFE. Good luck hope it works out for you both.
