Guest scoop
Hi Beth Had a year out there in 2000, worked for an agency so never really settled in one job or got the feel for the policies. What I can tell you is that they seemed a lot more supportive, I felt my profession was more respected and not just a doctors mate! The pay seems pretty much comparable I had a good standard of living and didn't work many shifts really. Spent most of my time in Sydney so I will be keen to know too if there is much difference in Queensland. Hope this helps hun? SCoop x
Guest claireand bob
Hi, i searched on google for nurses wages and got quite a bit of info, but its knowing what your equivalent would be. Try http://www.anf.org.au I have got application form from websites for different nursing agencies and they send you loads of info about living, working as a nurse, benefits etc. Try drake medox. Hope this helps. Our application has been gone nearly 5 months now so hopefully we will hear soon. Our plans are to go to Brisbane. We are going to fly to Perth and investigate there first though. Guest Alison1967
Hi, alison 1967, was your visa 136 skilled, we have had our medicals and poice checks done end of march. In contrast my skills assessment took 3 days to arrive back from Oz! 4 days after posting from uk.I will continue to be patient (or a patient if it takes much longer) Claire Skills assessment took about 4-6 wks because they asked for a extra transcript. Most of the time before that was trying to get quals statements for school and college certificates i lost or didn't bother picking up and they only keep them so long. Yes ours was 136 i didn't want to be sponsored or regional nominated so not tied to any one place. we got our visa six weeks 1 day after they got meds. You should be hearing really soon!!!!! I rang up on the off chance the day before i got the visa and found out i had a CO for two weeks, i sent her a nice polite email and got it next day. If you haven't be notified about getting one your probably going straight to visa, do not pass go, do not collect 200 (just the visa ha ha) Stay hopeful..... its on its way.
