Northern Queensland Ghost Towns - Ravenswood

Currently away for a few days at the moment, taking the opportunity to visit some parts of North Queensland. Went to Ravenswood today. Ravenswood was a gold mining town established in 1867. The population was close to 5000 by about 1910 before the gold began to dry up. Today's population is around 190. Evidence of it's mining history is dotted around the landscape & many of the towns buildings date from the turn of the last century.

To be honest Tony I think I could happily live there, it would need to have Internet access though:wink:

"Bijou, with a rustic charm" according to the estate agent.

Just one word needs replacing there Rob, 'Bijou' should have been replaced with, 'Bidet'.
