Cerberus1
Currently away for a few days at the moment, taking the opportunity to visit some parts of North Queensland. Went to Ravenswood today. Ravenswood was a gold mining town established in 1867. The population was close to 5000 by about 1910 before the gold began to dry up. Today's population is around 190. Evidence of it's mining history is dotted around the landscape & many of the towns buildings date from the turn of the last century. Imperial Hotel (built 1902) School of arts (built 1882) Post Office (built 1886) Cornish boilers at the Duke of Edinburgh Mine Mabel Mill Miners Home (1868) Misc Will post some pics of Charters Towers tomorrow.
