417 Transfer Issues Urgent Help...

Hi all,

 

So here is my story I hope someone can help and advise.

 

I have recently accepted a job and signed a contract with a gold

mining company as an Exploration Geologist in WA, however at the last minute

this fell through due to insufficient funding on the part of the company.

Ultimately I am left in a position where I am looking to find another suitable

position in the mining industry in WA.

 

I and my wife both have 457 visas to work in Australia as part of the

previous application. I am the main visa holder and my wife as the de facto. Please can someone advise on the process of finding another sponsor to transfer the paperwork etc.

 

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I don't really understand your post, how can you have 457 visas if the job fell through? Do you mean you have 28 days or something before your visa is cancelled?

 

There is no easy way to find a sponsor, you just have to get job hunting in the usual way and hope somebody will sponsor..

Hi there sorry if it wasnt clear.

 

I accepted a job 6 weeks ago and signed a contract. At this point the company then began the visa application. The 457 visas were granted 4 days ago.The company then had a board meeting yesterday and decided this was now surplus to requirements due to a financial shake up. So we are now in a position with the visas granted with some time to find another sponsor in mining.

 

I wanted to know if anybody had been through the same or if they new how long the transfer process would take if another sponsor was found etc.

if you have your current 457 visa, look for another employer who is an approved sponsor to employ you and lodge a new nomination.
