Hi, does anyone know how much it would cost to ship a tea chest of stuff over to Brisbane? How big are they and who does the packing? Any good companies? Thanks. :wubclub:

Hi there, not sure how much it will cost you...i suggest you ring one of the companies up such as crown or allied pickfords and they will quote you....they are really helpful....we arnt taking much and allied have quoted roughly £500.00 for 2 cubic metres (about 80 cubic foot)........ means nothing to me. lol. maybe you can figure out the measurments compared to a tea chest..........(do they make different sized tea chests?)

 

This does not include insurance which they quoted as £3.00 per £100.00 of the value of your goods...Basically 3% of the value of your goods...Plus extras such as mould and mildew damage/pairs damage/ ect....all extra ...then you have Aqis charges the other side...Australian quarantine inspection charges ....which works out at 10.60 Ausie Dollars per 100lb in weight of your goods...(roughly £4.00 per seven stone in weight)....no way can we fill a 20ft crate so we are looking at maybe 4 cubic meters...We were quoted £776.00 and £700.00 for 3 cubic meters.....(Apparently the more the you take the cheaper it becomes) Allied also deliver to your home the other end and pack everything this end...Some companies dont deliver the other end /or pack goods so you have to pay additional costs to have your things picked up and delivered in OZ....TAllied are coming out tommorow morning to look at all our goods....and to give us a more accurate quote...will let you know how we got on....Hope this helps........ P.S Just a thought.....maybe you could fly a tea chest to OZ...Could be cheaper???? Maybe worth looking into..... -x-
