Hi we're currently waiting patiently for state sponsorship for SA. Can anyone recommend the best areas in SA for a Hydraulic and Pneumatic fitter (15years experience in all). We have twins age 9 so need to work and live in a reasonably priced area with good schools and employment opportunities.

This is my first post so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at the North Eastern suburbs. Most of that kind of work I think is located towards the north of Adelaide, so any of the NE subs are within 20/30 mins drive easily. Unless you particularly want beachside in which case have a look around the Western and North Western beaches (such as around Semaphore).

NE suburbs include: Highbury, Dernancourt, Athelstone, Fairview Park, Tea Tree Gully, Vista, Wynn Vale, Greenwith, Golden Grove, Modbury, Salisbury Heights, Paradise.

There is also an industrial area in the south - Lonsdale - that may also have employment prospects for you, best bet is to keep an eye on SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site and then use Australian travel maps, street directory, driving directions & aerial photographs - Whereis.com to look up the location, and then perhaps RAA - Travel Planner. Find location, Get directions, Pre planned routes, Places to stay and Holidays Savings. to work out travel times

There have been some cracking positions advertised lately on seek and in the tiser.

A lot is based around the wingfield/salisbury area. But don't be limited to just the North East. Mt Barker has some places, also the Barrossa and Mclaren vale area.

You want to be within a 30 minute commute of work, only because the traffic will get worse in years to come. And it's not like a motorway commute, its more a stop start traffic light affair.

There's work though so don't worry on that score.
