Dear Migration Agent

You will be aware that as per our policy and practice, the List of Occupations for Sponsorships is reviewed constantly against our Planning Levels with the view to revisions being undertaken and the List revised accordingly. However, changes will usually be made every quarter, to minimise disruption. The first quarter of the current list falls in January 2010 (the next one being planned for April 2010).

This is to advise you that while no occupations are being taken off the List, there will be an additional requirement for the occupation of Cook ASCO 4513-11 and there will be no work experience waiver – no exceptions.

This means that to be sponsored under Cook ASCO 4513-11 for Permanent sponsorship, the applicant must meet all the DIAC criteria, as well as:

· Have at least one year out of the last two years of paid work experience in a skilled occupation (with appropriate qualifications)

AND

· Have at least one year out of the last four years of work experience as a Cook ASCO 4513-11 post qualifications (at least Certificate III and the 900 hours of work experience)

AND

· Have a firm job offer of at least six (6) months (in the future) for a position as a Cook ASCO 4513-11 in South Australia

AND

· Evidence of having already commenced in that position such as Pay slips, Tax Returns.

However, for Provisional sponsorship, the applicant must meet all the DIAC criteria, as well as:

· Have at least one year out of the last two years of paid work experience in a skilled occupation (with appropriate qualifications)

AND

· Have a firm job offer of at least six (6) months (in the future) for a position as a Cook ASCO 4513-11 in South Australia

AND

· Evidence of having already commenced in that position such as Pay slips, Tax Returns.

Appropriate amendments will be made on our website at www.migration.sa.gov.au to reflect this change very soon.

All applications that have been submitted before 5 January 2010 and if all the supporting documents are received by Immigration SA within the 60 day period will not be affected by this change.

In providing the supporting documents, our advice to you is to ensure that the Resume covers the following elements to enhance a positive outcome:

· Evidence of or date when qualifications were completed successfully

· Evidence of employment/paid work experience including:

· Period of employment

· Title of position

· Key responsibilities

· Name of employment and contact details
